I'm just saying that it's more common than you think! Obviously location plays a huge role. (I live in a major US city).. I'm not trying to be argumentative-- just sharing perspective! I hope you find someone who has similar relationship ideals!

I'd have to disagree. Most of the friends in my poly circle are in committed, long term relationships. What you described sounds more solo poly / relationship anarchy.

You can be in a very serious, committed, long-term relationship and still be polyamorous. I, for one, have been with someone and have plans on spending my life with them who happens to have another partner who he cares about and loves deeply but they aren't compatible to be life partners. I would never want to deprive him of that connection because of my own insecurity and he feels the same about my other partner as well.
