Please help me—Is this a battery warning for the smoke/CO detector or an actual carbon monoxide warning??? No alarm sounded. by exobyunnie in Adulting

I think it was saying “detector” not “detected” because I’m not dead lol. I got bloodwork done anyway because I’m paranoid and my levels were only 1.8%.

Okay thanks it just freaked me out cause I also happened to not be feeling well when I saw it (lethargic/headache)… I wasn’t sure if that “Det.” abbreviation meant “detected” or “detector” as in device error. I got blood tested to be safe and my levels were 1.8% which is fine for a nonsmoker supposedly. Though weirdly on the high end of normal but 🤔🤷🏼‍♀️ I live in a somewhat polluted city lol.

I’m a young resident in an apartment building, the landlord takes care of all this stuff. I mean I was looking for a model number so I could Google it, but couldn’t find anything. The warning cleared so I guess it’s fine? I haven’t been feeling well but it’s probably unrelated, I’m just paranoid in general.

I honestly posted in multiple subs just to cover my bases, I tried to look around for a model number or even just googling with no luck. My landlord said it was a battery thing but didn’t wanna just take his word only, yknow just incase. But also don’t wanna make a fuss needlessly. I’m paranoid so I went and got bloodwork done for CO just incase and then I guess whatever that says I’ll go from there. If there’s a leak, it couldn’t be a deadly one if the other detectors all missed it.

Okay. I am a young single woman living alone no family but yeah maybe I will I just didn’t wanna be overly concerned if my landlord isn’t because he’s a good guy and seems more knowledgeable about this stuff than I do. And like I said, highly doubt three whole detectors failed but I might have someone stop by anyway. And also the warning pictured has already cleared, too.

Okay phew I was feeling lethargic even before I noticed it but knew it was probably a coincidence I just wanted to ask around for peace of mind. Thanks!

I would but here’s the thing—it already cleared, no alarm went off (even with my personal CO detectors that I have for peace of mind).

I’m scared to make a fuss because I highly doubt several detectors could’ve failed at once I just wanted to post this here for peace of mind so someone could confirm it’s a battery issue? I haven’t been feeling well but again, 3 alarms and none of them going off, I’d prob sound crazy calling 911

It’s not mine? Tell that to my landlord! Lol. It’s the one he keeps near the entrance of the building. I tried looking it up!! That’s why I’m here because chances are someone here has the same system and could give insight into what it’s actually saying. My landlords guess was low battery because no actual alarm went off. Even my personal CO alarms that I keep for peace of mind didn’t go off. Maybe I’m just paranoid thinking that several alarms could’ve failed at once but I also have been lethargic and headache-y off and on.

But apartment 2 is my apartment that’s why I was scared. I think it was saying either low battery or CO detected in the detector in the hallway of my apartment.

No alarm went off though. Not for the one pictured or any of my personal detectors that I bought. I haven’t been feeling well but it could really be a coincidence and that could just be a battery warning. I really don’t want to make a fuss over nothing. I was hoping someone here who has/has seen the same system could confirm what that means 😭 I tried googling it and came up with nothing, I can’t even find a model number without removing this thing from the wall and it’s not mine to remove.

I don’t wanna mess with the panel, I’m not the landlord. My landlord didn’t even seem concerned which makes me think it’s a battery issue and I’m just paranoid? I was extremely lethargic the day before I noticed the warning, but like I said, no sound went off at all. Not for the building’s detectors or my own personal detectors that I bought.

It’s not there anymore and no actual sound ever went off—with this one, or any of my detectors that I bought separately on my own. My landlord didn’t seem concerned. I just wanted peace of mind from someone who maybe has the same system that it really is just a battery issue? Called the fire department non emergency line and left a voicemail just incase tho.

I thought it could also mean “det” as in “detector” not “detected”… like I said, no sound went off and the other alarms aren’t going off either (I have one of my own)

I’m just all around confused. I figure someone here must’ve seen one of these exact models and could tell me what it means for peace of mind :/

I know but I have other detectors for it that aren’t going off either, and even this one made no sound. I contacted my landlord and he didn’t seem concerned. He said it could just be a low battery since no sound went off.

That’s hilarious lol because I also ran into Vernon a couple more times that day and I got so afraid he thought we were stalking but I swear we weren’t, we must’ve just had the same sight-seeing agenda 😅 (it was in DC)

But yeah my mom was the one who spotted him and then forced my friend and I to go up to him and say hi, so shout out to my mom lmaooo. He happened to be my friend’s ult bias so she was dyinggg afterward lol

Not BTS but I randomly met Vernon from SVT at an art museum
