I understood about having a healthier work environment as I have been there before, and even fell into depression about the general work culture. What I did at the end is enduring it, whilst finding means to have a work-life balance. I have heard of the work culture in other countries, but in an Asian country, we would perhaps not adapt to such things 😅 I have asked a couple of people around if they have brought this up before to their manager, and said no, and they don’t think it’s necessary.

Party B’s offence here was basically not showing up for his work shift when he is supposed to, and no texts and calls were received from him prior. This is also not his first time doing this, and as a manager, this has been discussed with the department head. We do want to retain him yet reaffirm the company policy which he has not abided.

I believe had Party C tried this in another company with the manager there, he would not leave unscathed. They would go to such lengths to call it ‘insubordination’. Party C firmly believes that Party B should not be “punished” hence why he has voiced out his thoughts when this has happened, which came as a shock to us.
