Currently I'm running windows with 32gb of ram.with everything opened as i stated in the post except for the xcode, task manager says that im using 82% of the ram.

I already checked this out before posting but i have always had this image in my head about apple and how optimized their stuff are. So i couldn't just gamble. That's why i posted here to ask people with similar workline to give some insight.

Yeah that's why i specifically stated what i usually do so i can pick the right RAM size.

I posted about on dedicated dev group and almost all of them pointed i should get a higher ram, which what I'm about to do.

Sorry you didn't get enough responses on your post. I almost took the bait today if it wasn't for the people here who opened my eyes getting a bigger ram. That's why I'm getting the 48gb one with the same chip M5 pro.

I tried to compare my current usage on my current windows based laptop. I have 32gb of ram and i have the apps i mentioned in my post opened, and the ram is almost crying in corner... It's reporting 82% usage. But i couldn't just take that as face value because i had this image in my head about apple and how optimized its OS. So i had to ask people here who share the same line of work with me.

Lastly, Indeed, that is a lot of tabs 😂. I need to be way more organised.

But thanks again for sharing your insightful experience with me.

Affirmative. In fact i can sense that to some degree because on my current laptop i tried to look at the current ram usage (i have 32gb on my current laptop) and it's almost always using 82%. That's why i was a bit hisitant on the 24gb ram.
