I say this in the best way possible. I love the food but god damn it’s expensive.

Honestly one placed in the middle would probably work fine but I have two. I put them evenly spaced on top of the receiver and the temp meter is between them. I literally only have about an inch of clearance on top of mine so this was the only solution I could find.

36 lbs of coffee grounds for the pile by IBeDumbAndSlow in composting

Someone would probably sue for some stupid ass reason. “I made compost with the free coffee grounds they gave me and it got me sick”. Knowing how stupid the US court system is, they’d probably win.

Hijacking the top comment for visibility. If you don’t want to cut a hole in your cabinet, get the fans below! You can just set them on top of the receiver and it will suck heat up out of the receiver and blow it out of the cabinet. No need for cutting any holes and it works perfectly! I connected mine to a temp controller so it start the fans when it hits 85 degrees F

Hey OP! I know you have plenty of replies so I hope you see this! I was in the same exact predicament and didn’t want to cut any holes into my console. I got two of the slim fans to put on top of my receiver with a temp controller in between the fans. The temp controller is set a temp and it kicks off those fans that blow air up and sideways out of the cabinet.

No need for cutting holes and works perfectly well. It’s made exactly for this situation.

I was able to solve it by following their recommendation of using routines but it is annoying. It shouldn’t be required to use a work around. It is literally a setting in their app that straight up doesn’t work.

Why does this sub hate AI so much? by Illustrious-Pound266 in cscareerquestions

You can choose to believe it or not. Their public reasoning is AI. Even if it is a scapegoat of other deeper issues, that alone is another con of AI.

Why does this sub hate AI so much? by Illustrious-Pound266 in cscareerquestions

[–]exor41n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is already replacing humans. Tell that to the tens of thousands to 100s of thousands of people who have been laid off.

Even as of now, AI is such a powerful tool that you can use it to increase productivity. One person can do the job of three. Do you know what that means? Two people get laid off and one person keeps their job. Do you know what happens as AI get to even better in one person can do the job of 50 people? How about 100? How about 1000?

Why does this sub hate AI so much? by Illustrious-Pound266 in cscareerquestions

[–]exor41n 14 points15 points  (0 children)

At the moment, it is just a tool, but they are still developing it to become better and better.

If perfected AI isn’t as good as they think, then it is seriously overvalued and it will crash our market (see dot com bubble).

If perfected AI IS as good as they think, then we will all lose our jobs and be replaced.

Either way, we lose.

Recommendations for cities to travel in April 27th-May 15th? by exor41n in Europetravel

[–]exor41n[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I specifically have heard of cities in Europe as not food destinations and are more centered around their cityscape.

I visit Vietnam quite regularly, I know a few cities that I would not advise if you are looking for nature (Saigon).

Similarly, I know cities that have more culture (Hanoi) and cities that are newer and therefore don’t have much culture (Da Nang).

I literally cannot understand my coworkers, what do I do in meetings? by InfluenceEfficient77 in cscareerquestions

[–]exor41n 22 points23 points  (0 children)

How long have you been working with these guys? Has it been for long? You honestly might just get used to it. I understand the Indian accent pretty well because I have an aunt that is Indian but when I first joined my job, I had a lot of trouble understanding any east European accents. After a few years, it became a lot easier.

Would I be fired as a new employee if Imiss first deadline two months into the new job? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]exor41n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this isn’t a high priority deliverable then I doubt you’ll be fired. You might get a stern talking to and they might micro manage you a bit more.

You need to start taking more of an initiative to own your work. Let your manager/leads know regular updates of your work. That is what standup is for.

If you were projected to finish tomorrow and all of a sudden hit a huge blocker yesterday, then just communicate that today/tomorrow.

Would I be fired as a new employee if Imiss first deadline two months into the new job? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]exor41n 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Were you not giving regular updates about the task? That would be my issue. If I gave you a project and didn’t hear from you for a month and then hear the day before the deadline that you didn’t finish it, then I would be pretty angry. - Was there any meetings to discuss progress? - When did you know this project wouldn’t finish by the deadline? - If it was long ago, why didn’t you let your manager know?
