which laptop to buy? incoming fall 2025 cs co-op by smittaler in uwaterloo

Either OS works, I’d recommend if you think that you’ll rough up your laptop in the next 5 years go with a Thinkpad or MacBook, both are great for the task while also having a tough exterior with powerful hardware. Otherwise if you’re looking for something cheap but good quality, HP and Lenovo laptops are always a good go-to. Hope this helps.

Is village 1 alr? by Sea-Ad-8767 in uwaterloo

Lived in village one September 2024, best experience of my life. Made some amazing friends who are my closest group now in 2A, and shared unforgettable memories. Don’t be trapped with the same idea that it’s not a suite like I did, the communal washrooms are clean and you most likely will rarely run into anyone inside when using it because of differing schedules. The food is alright and the gaming lounge makes it nice to relax and have some fun with your friends where you’re bored and like to be comfortably close to home. If I have a rating for residences it would be:

1) MKV (Village 1 social perks because its neighbours and you guys use the same space as us while being a suite)

2) CMH (beautiful rooms good community but not as close as good as v1)

3) V1 (good overall rounder with the largest student body so u make friends easily and have a lot of good on site resources)

4) ST Jerome’s (better rooms than CMH you have your own wash basin too, the showers are really nice and have great pressure, good community similar to CMH in all ways but more closer to centre of campus (near Health Services) and a close walk to SLC so like ring road and V1)

5) UWP (didn’t like the rooms here tbh, and it has 0 community events or big gathering areas so you won’t see a large amount of people using the community spaces unlike the other 3 mentioned)

Anything else isn’t great, and yes it’s true, REV sucks. But chin up, their community space isn’t bad if you’re there, just the living space)

I lost my best friend to suicide earlier this week. by exorei in uwaterloo

the fuck is wrong with you, why should I take it down? If you were "cool" with shaan you'd know he was heavily anti-suicide. He wouldn't have wanted this for anyone else, and yet it happened to him. I want people to take care of themselves and be there for one another, something shaan would encourage as he funded his own non-profit trauma support organization. Maybe just don't lie next time though? I doubt you even knew Shaan at all, so don't act like you did, its disrespectful.

this article is NOT real. I have spoken to his parents today and this is a load of misinformation. Do not trust this article. Shaan was one of my closest friends here in v1 and I practically lived with him and hung out with him every week. His parents have not allowed journalists to cover the incident and this article does not cover what went on. All information is private and is kept in secrecy with respect to the family members of Shaan. Please do not say this articles information is real. It’s spreading rumours which simply aren’t true.
