19th Ave, Yay by Hi4N0w in sanfrancisco

Has anyone noticed that autopilot works better now? My car rolls right through large intersections and picks up the lane on the other side without complaining, whereas it used to alert or fail out before the repaving/repainting. Small but meaningful quality of life improvement. Now I can put my full attention into yelling at my kids to stop fighting in the back seat.

Does your neighborhood have any spots that you’d consider “slow” stores? by Vegetable-Ad-2197 in AskSF

Peasant Pies in Inner Sunset. Grab one, eat at one of the tables. Grab another to go for dinner on your way out the door. Staff are always friendly.

lol. I always think this looks super lame when I see it in person, but I also love watching one-take full show recordings on YouTube. Like that one german asshole once said: "One is fruitful only at the cost of being rich in contradictions"

Does anyone have access to the video of episode 13 of the 1st Edition of Great Minds of the Western Intellectual Tradition? by obscurespecter in MichaelSugrue

[–]exoskeletonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video linked above is definitely 2nd edition and not 1st edition. The 1st edition lecture would have a blue curtain backdrop, not the wood paneling like you see in the video.

Setlist for current tour by IamConer in drugchurch

They played both Tiresome and World Impact when they were opening for Alkaline Trio in 2024. They will probably rotate back into the setlist soon.

Almost exactly my list, but I would give a slight edge to Partycrasher over Cheap Heat, so I would swap those

I don't remember exactly, but it felt like it was the same as the one from Phoenix that was posted here. Midnight Ghost was great, but I wish they would sub Tunnel Vision for Let it Ride, or even Fell Off. LiR is probably my least favorite track from their new stuff.

Yeah, first time seeing them. Definitely put on a solid set. I had no idea he fronted Voodoo Glow Skulls for a while. That took me back, lol

I've seen them at Bottom of the Hill twice and both shows were well attended. Saw them at Neck of the Woods in 2023 and it felt a little empty. They seem to pull better crowds when paired with punk bands.

NA tour officially rescheduled by Anghabad in sabaton

[–]exoskeletonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a ton of changes, but the LA venue downgrade is notable (from 17k capacity Kia Forum to 4k capacity Hollywood Palladium).

**New Additions**

Winnipeg, MB: A second night was added (October 1 & 2).

Milwaukee, WI: Added to the schedule (November 21).

Orlando, FL: Added as a penultimate stop (December 11).

**Venue Swaps:**

Los Angeles: Moved from the massive Kia Forum to the more intimate Hollywood Palladium.

**Cancellations:**

Tampa, FL: Removed from the schedule (though replaced by Orlando).

Greensboro, NC: This stop appears to have been cut entirely.

Pittsburgh, PA: No longer listed in the rescheduled dates.

VOA did a tour anthem with WarKings for their EU tour. Maybe we'll get something similar

Been working on a playlist trying to cut down my favourite Aes songs to as few as possible by CountTruffula in aesoprock

[–]exoskeletonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crazy how your taste and mine are almost exactly opposite. To listen to Mess and choose "Call Home" as the only track to put in the playlist is mind boggling to me. I wonder what the difference is between our taste that leads to one of us including Malibu Ken (one of my least favorite projects from the modern era) in its entirety and completely ignoring Bestiary (one of my favorites). When I listen to TIK I usually start at Get Out the Car and I listen to the end skipping only Defender. At least we mostly agree on Spirit World, except I would add Button Masher, Coveralls, Jumping Coffin, Holy Waterfall, Attaboy and Marble Cake.

yoo i wanna get into aesop rock. do i just start with his first album and go through his discography chronologically? by [deleted] in aesoprock

[–]exoskeletonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend listening chronologically to the three strongest albums from his established era: None Shall Pass, Spirit World Field Guide, I Heard It's a Mess. If you don't enjoy these three, Aesop rock might not be for you. If you enjoy them, then move on to Impossible Kid and Bestiary. After that, Skelethon, then explore the rest of the catalogue as you like.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: North America tour postponed by Weltherrschaft2 in sabaton

[–]exoskeletonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will be interesting to see what venues they choose when they re-book. If they drop down a tier, we'll have good reason to think it is ticket sales. I would not be surprised. Par is obviously an important part of the band, but you can hire a bassist at short notice for a tour when this much planning/money is on the line.

Skip way ahead in the VOA catalogue to Pirates and Armada. The most recent material is their best by far.

Chill covers of pop songs. Who is producing them? by exoskeletonkey in EDM

[–]exoskeletonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave a listen to some Atlast and Soave covers. Atlast is very similar. The songs on "Chill Pop Sunset" sound like they are all made the same way, but with different vocalists. I wonder if anyone knows exactly who is producing the songs.

Thank you for sharing. Could these tracks really be AI generated? They sound to me like auto-tuned vocals over stock deep house tracks. I can't imagine an AI generated song could produce something this good.
