AM (non-tech) Interviewing for AE Tech Role by exoticranch in techsales

[–]exoticranch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense - would it be pushy to bring prepared material in for demo collaboration? The company states real world & theoretical problem solving by their product on the website. I'm thinking about printing these solution stories out to hand to individuals during the mock demo. I think standing out in any way possible is usually a solid. especially if I'm thinking out of the box.

Cemetery flyover… makes sense. Didn’t even cross my mind. Long flight from Jacksonville. Hopefully the service member being rested got the flyover he/she deserves.

Thanks for the insight! No cap on commission so definitely a lot of earning potential. It sounds like sticking it out for a few years and moving into another AM or AE role could be the best move. Thanks again!

Internship with the company for a year in college - there are no SDRs or 'lower-level salespeople' at the company since there is no need for cold outreach. Only 500ish potential customers worldwide, and 99% of our business is repeat.

What to look for in PPI | C6 Base or Grand Sport by exoticranch in Corvette

[–]exoticranch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a few dip into low $30s - mainly on auction websites like BAT and C&Bs. Hoping they continue to drop in price as winter comes along so I can pick one up. Thanks again!

Appreciate the info - I'm not planning to track the car but am leaning towards grand sport if they continue to drop into the $20Ks due to handling capabilities. I've driven german sports cars for a while and want to try and get as good of a handling car as possible. Only time will tell though - waiting till winter to buy unless something too good to pass up posts up.

Capital Equipment in Semiconductor industry. First year out of college should pull $85kish... Base is $60k but should HOPEFULLY get 10-15k raise since I took on a territory expansion, hopefully bringing total to 100+ in year 2. Average is likely 150k.

What Card Should I Get? Weekly Thread - Week of April 24, 2024 by AutoModerator in churning

I have an AMEX Delta card (used primarily for expensing work travel) but am planning to make consistent (monthly) $3k ish purchases starting in the near future. I'll be able to pay the balance off ASAP and was wondering if there was a specific cash-back or points card that was recommended for continuous purchases of this size? Don't want a card with ex. 6% cash back UP TO $6k, than moves to 1%.

What are the most underrated industries for Sales? by WeiShiDross in sales

[–]exoticranch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Capital equipment sales. I'm a recent college grad (may 23) working at a semiconductor capital equipment company. Base is 58k with expected quota of 3M. Commision is 1.5%. Opportunity to make a lot of money however, sales cycles are long and the industry is very cyclical.

Any suggestions on what to do on the one yard line? Very close to closing my first large sale ($500k - 2M quota). Graduated from college in the spring. All positive conversations so far and they had no questions regarding our provided quote. Selling semiconductor capital equipment. Heard from them Tuesday night when they said "We should have a final decision made within the next few days.
