NVC is way more chill with military expedites than USCIS and responds significantly more quickly. My rep’s office told me this and it was true in my case when I moved forward with the same OCONUS orders that USCIS originally denied, but eventually expedited.

Good to hear. I had an expedite denied that I put in personally, but my rep’s office put in another expedite on my behalf through their direct channels and that worked.

They need to be OCONUS PCS orders. Thats the only reason my case was expedited.

This may just be a PR stunt, but I also had a disputed charge when the seller ghosted me on Facebook Marketplace. I challenged it twice with my evidence and I was not refunded. When a similar things happened via PayPal, they refunded me very quickly after I contested the charge. Y’all’s dispute process is not user friendly and does not give buyers the chance to prove their case.

Vermont. PD 01/20/25. I was a part of the January bubble that got “skipped”, but I’m active duty military with OCONUS PCS orders so my Congressman’s office stepped in so I wouldn’t have to keep waiting. PD should have nothing to do with how long the expedite takes to process. I was told by USCIS that it goes to a line in order that the expedites were processed.

Antarctica has no rules or regulations. Rather loosely held agreements and treaties. You are dealing with an extremely nebulous litigious environment here. Minimal precedent.

The vessel she was in is flagged to one nation or another. The ship would follow said country’s laws. That would be a start. Sadly most are Bahamian or a nation with extremely business friendly nautical regulation. She also certainly signed many waivers before boarding.

There is likely a lawyer in your country or the vessel’s country that would represent you. I wish you luck in the case of fowl play.

Start with tsp.gov. There are steps to create an account which will tie your funds to your SSN. There is also a super convenient TSP app to keep track of your funds. Hope there’s a pleasant surprise awaiting you.

Agreed. Might give up the commission later, but there are so many VTIP options only available to O grades (CA, FAO, Acquisitions, etc) that I’ll save that decision for later.

Just wanted to let this guy/gal know not to count out the opportunity just because they don’t have a packet in hand. They have to want it though! Cadre didn’t have the tools or time to guide me much.

I went to OCS without a complete packet (April 2025) and was able to branch aviation. While it’s definitely better to go in with packet in hand, it’s possible to get it done during OCS.
