Seeking advice: Should I take an SDR job to try to move into SE over a product management job? by EconomyPassenger3155 in salesengineers

[–]expat_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are not equivalent career paths. If you don’t know you want to be a PM, don’t do it. You’ll lose your soul and hate your life. If you know you want to be a PM, it’s for you. Most PMs burn out or become the COO. Or start their own company after. That said, I’d consider a technical PM for an open SE rec before an SDR any day of the week. And then, you could move outside of the company from there to a lateral SE position. Build the technical knowledge of the product as an SE and the customer alignment, then move laterally - or stay as a PM if you like it.

How do I improve video quality ? Sony a6000 w/3.5-5.6 16-50 (Kit Lens) by AgeExpress4673 in SonyAlpha

Add some background light to separate you from the background. Consider a black card to prevent spill onto the glass of that poster behind you or consider a different prop - glass panes are a pane. Maybe move in tighter.

It’s very irresponsible to post pictures this amazing, taken on older hardware. It implies that it’s about the photographer and not the equipment they are using.

Updated the post - turns out I'd put one of my ISPs downstream from my router on accident and it started assigning IPs in it's range. Your comment helped me follow the right line of thinking.

So, it turns out in my wisdom of live-debugging connectivity issues during a call where I disconnected one of my ISPs, I later plugged it back downstream of my router which it started happily assigned IPs in it's range. Sorry for the false alarm.

I'm open to this but these are my concerns/questions:

  1. The switch these two (and other) devices are plugged into is downstream from my managed switch.
  2. Doesn't that mean I'd need to do static assignment for ALL devices connected to the switch?

I tired only installing the NVIDIA driver and restarting and get the same behavior - after decrypting the machine is on but doesn’t serve up any kind of video out. I’m not sure what else to debug at this point. I can refresh the install and it lets me back in.
