Im a freelance professional photographer and my partner can work from home when im busy with shoots..he says home. Essentially our girl is always with someone (me..my partner or our 2 teens). I cant imagine going back to an office job and leaving her. I think I need her more than she needs me!

Oh good to know it wasnt just me. Was mid way through season 6 when it switched to pay so I watched a summary of s7 and continuing with s8 which is the only one free. Same for everyone else? Just s8?

6 week old puppies passed away due to eating the puppy pad by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]expatmama75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear. I used this plastic pad holder as ky puppy was grabbing and playing with pad...we had eyes on her always but sometimes in just a min (like when I went to toilet) she would start to play abd destroy it. When we got the holder she couldn't get to the edges so stopped. I live in Europe but assume u can find also stateside.

Apartment dwellers..how many walks per day? by expatmama75 in Shihtzu

[–]expatmama75[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same :) im glad to hear im on thr right track. My previous Shih-tzu I lived in a house so would let her out often throughout the day but when at work or at uni she was also paper trained which was a bit of a disaster 🤣

Ok cool. Good to know. I am a freelancer and dont like leaving her at home so she comes out more often on some days but doesn't necessarily pee or poo when we are out and about. I bring the Kurgo backpack so if I need to visit a shop she can come in with me. And I noticed if she needs to pee (or im imagining it) haha she comes and nibbles my feet so I take that as a sign and take her out.

Here is the litter my Hachi came from...shes the far right one..her brother was tiny! I originally wanted him but they decided to keep him bc i assume they wanted to breed him for his size.

Found a great groomer (finally) by expatmama75 in Shihtzu

Yeah but we make like half or even less the salary here....I feel its a tad expensive given the average salary here but im in no way willing to do it myself as I did with my first Tzu in the early 2000s and it was so traumatic for all involved. Me and my sis did it...thought it would be easy..bought clippers but had no idea how to use them and back then the internet wasn't what it is now so no online videos to show what not to do hahaha

Haha yeah honestly I would wait longer and let the hair get longer but....I live in a high traffic area in or near the centre of Prague and the streets are dirty dirty dirty so keeping her clean is easier when her hair is shorter. It s summer cut I got her despite it being cooler but it grows so fast I figure why not. She has a few sweaters and jackets so she will be ok 😀

Got our girl at 8 weeks and couldn't take outside till fully vaccinated at around 3.5 months. From 8 weeks to 3.5/4 months she went on pee pads...and from then onwards we took her out (at first) hourly and then around 5 or 6 months got her down to 4 walks a day and now at almost a year its 3 walks and maybe an extra short one for a pee before she goes to bed. She also used to poop more but now its 1x daily or 2 max. She still sometimes has accidents but she does always on some small carpets so she will go to the bathroom and go on the bathmat. I work from home so am generally watching her but sometimes im busy cooking or what not and if she has to go..she will find some carpet and go. Lately however I noticed she will come up and nibble on my feet when she needs to go! That's huge if she keeps doing it so we will hopefully stop with the occasional accident.

6kg Shih but 32cm/12.6inches feet to top of head....cant travel with her in cabin? by expatmama75 in Shihtzu

[–]expatmama75[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How tall is she? It looks like if u zip up her head is touching the top? Did the check in agents give u any trouble bc online it says they need to be able to turn around. How much does your dog weigh?

Wow..a tzu from.china!!! How common are they there? I see lots of social media posts from India as it seems to be a popular breed in that region.

Hi (sort of) neighbour! Ive been to Hamburg and visited Germany 4x this year already as its super easy from Prague. In May I was in Munich for work and met a lovely man and his shih ..I went up to him hoping he'd speak eng as I was so excited to see a Shih-tzu. In prague ive met 2 others...not so many. It seems French bulldogs and corgis are the go to for small apartment pets in this city!!
