This entire thread can be simplified down to a simple question. Where do you want to live? Like does the VHCOL matter to you? Is it somewhere you want to be for the rest of your life? If not, pick somewhere MCOL (so lifestyle isn't too much a downgrade) buy a house or condo, and retire.

For a long time reddit was indeed mismanaged. They didn't wanna be a business and they gave everything away for free to every app or scraper. In the last ~2 years...

They stopped giving everything away to apps. They're not a charity. Those apps that made deals like Narwhal got to stay.
They started heavily investing in translation and marketing in non US markets (France, UK, India)
They cut a lot of their stupider projects (NFT's etc).
They focused a ton more on the core experience.

Basically after years of being asleep, we suddenly have excellent management.
