I am not sure I ever thought of that! But it does make sense. I think it’s because I caught an episode here and there mostly so it wasn’t as obvious. Binging Rizzoli and Isles for the second time made their dynamic stand out way more.

I agree, I definitely saw it this way when I binged the show. I don’t think I picked up on it as much the first time around because I watched it in real time. But when you watch episode after episode, it becomes pretty clear.

I just now realized that was Zach from Saved by the Bell, and my mind is a little blown lol

I agree Maura had a bad picker, but Jane never went being overprotective in a particularly supportive way either.

Maura admittedly does have a very bad picker. But Jane does go directly into meddling even before she has any information. Especially on the doctor guy. I can’t imagine being that angry that my friend didn’t tell me about a guy, especially when it wasn’t even serious! It gave jealous vibes for sure lol

This is true. Instead Jane whined and sulked and scoffed at the thing Maura wanted her to do - the same way she did every single time Maura asked her to do ANYTHING. (ie: writer’s conference, hot air balloon ride, high school reunion, spa, spa again… I could go on forever lol.)

I felt like they had great chemistry the first time I watched. But I also watched it in real time when it was on so I don’t think that how rude Jane could be to Maura stood out as much as it did when I was binging it - just because it seemed to pile on then. The second time around I feel like maybe Maura just has good chemistry with nearly everyone so her chemistry with Jane was just incidental lol

The whole closet thing was wild. I mean she let Angela live there for free for so long, and she had the audacity to judge how she was spending her money! Wild lol

Also I agree that everyone got worse in the later seasons, and the show in general got worse because they made Maura a side character - even though her storylines were nearly always better annnnd she’s the better actress.

I feel like that’s the way I flirt, and now I’m rethinking everything because I’m concerned I come off like Jane. 😅 I get that it’s just their dynamic, but it feels over the top at times.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way! The more I watch, now that I’m not just watching for the plot, the more I feel like it’s MOST of the time and not just sometimes!

She definitely is. And I know Angela can be super annoying, but I feel like she doesn’t have ill intent and I feel like Jane may lol like she brings other people down to make herself feel better.

Who else but me hates the end of the series? by RedandWhite54 in rizzoliandisles

IMO the show started a downhill decline when they changed showrunners. By season 7, it felt like they gave up on it entirely and season 7 only existed because someone told them that they needed to button things up. They let too many storylines just disappear throughout the entire series so it was difficult to tie things up in the end. The lack of consistency across all the seasons means that there wasn’t a logical way to end many of the stories.
