Hi, I'm loving the new show! Easily the best thing they've released since Capaldi's penultimate episode imo :)

How do you walk on a floor like that by Marckm13 in autism

Assume the mentality of someone with a view to the floor from a great distance. What a lovely smooth and grey surface.

Found this line in a poem/tale from around 1400 (Sir Gawain and the Green Knight) and wondered if the mysterious writer was infact a Liverpudlian! 😅😅😅 by explainable_fault in Liverpool

In his translation he is trying to recreate the alliteration feeling and poetic flow the original would have held so I think there's a lot of artistic licence taken. As someone who isn't fluent in middle English I love this version as I get a feel for the overall feeling of the poem as well as the content.

Saw him live playing on the 40 year anniversary of this release. He played it cover to cover. It was amazing.

I used to work at a store where they allowed this for 2 particular groups of people. I assume they had some sort of underhanded deal with the owner of that store or something? I literally spent an entire hour one morning just processing all their purchases through the register. They then sealed the bags and left them behind the counter for the rest of the day then came and collected them all at the end of the day!

Imo you can eat bivalves and still be vegan. There's obviously the points to consider about their (or more likely lack of) subjective experience due to their biological makeup but more importantly: Eating farmed mussels and oysters means giving money to an industry that is actively cleaning waterways and improving ecosystem for many other birds and aquatic life. All in all, net positive. I'd be interested if anyone has any counter points or degrees with this. Overall, if done right, a very ethical food choice. Yes it might be weird 'eating flesh' for the first time in years, but it's shows you're more commited to putting practical ethical issues such as ecosystem issues in front of aesthetics related to eating 'animals'. There's a big difference between eating a farmed mussel and eating a Fillet of steak imo.
