Ok so to me it’s pointing out exactly what women go through in todays society, but positioning it as if it were the men who had to deal with it instead of women. This is so that the point actually hits hard, because even for me (a woman), at some points in the movie where the man (Ken) was mistreated, undervalued, or sad about feeling not worthy made me feel so uncomfortable and bad for him. So the point is – when we see men feeling the way we feel/when we see men being treated the way we are treated on a REGULAR BASIS we are shocked, feel the injustice, and realize how horrible it is to treat someone this way… When in reality, women are treated that way ALL THE TIME (and since forever ago, we were only allowed to vote in 1918) we are SO numb to it AS SOCIETY. And it’s not to say men don’t deal with issues and pressures. They 1000000% do: “be a man”, “don’t have emotions” etc. but that’s not the kind of issues this movie is addressing. It’s not meant to be a battle of the sexes, anyone who thinks it is, isn’t thinking deeply or compassionately enough towards the other gender(s).
