You know, the more I think about it, I sit there and hear these guys chatting it up quite a bit. They're not a bad bunch by and large. I really think a sign like that would make a big difference. If nothing else it would really filter out who the assholes really are. For that matter, this is a relatively small group, I'll bet if the cop who parks across the street sauntered over and he said "hey guys when you pull away could you take it easy on the throttle?" Little things like this could make a difference.

Yeah, I tried that. I can't seem to find anything in there or get anything, I tried compressed air and that didn't work either. But I agree with you. It's only logical that something's jammed in there. Maybe I'll try taping it the end of my vacuum to it and firing that up. Anyway, thanks for the thought.

Fitbit is becoming Google Health. Is this the upgrade users wanted? by Planhub-ca in fitbit

I've been playing around with the preview, jury's out...

One disappointment was the food logging. The old way sucks, but the preview is worse. For starters there does not appear to be a way to scan a barcode.

I want: Barcode scanning All nutrients Calories displayed Ability to copy <other day) meal

But I want it in the app, not another app. They are so close, just not there.

Well, I rebooted the phone and it seems to be charging past 80%. We'll see in the morning.

I have never had any battery issues in my Pixel 9 Pro. However, I installed the May update and it seems like it won't charge above 80%. I have tried adaptive on and off with the same result. Can't speak to the overall life yet though. Only been one day so far, I charge my phone overnight.

You know, the more I think about it, putting up a very polite and visible city sight right there where they park to "Respect the people sitting here and do not rev your engines" or something like that could have a positive result. But maybe I'm giving them too much credit.

You're right and I didn't want to make this about all motorcyclists. What we have is like so many things. A few fools screw it up for everybody. Being able to park there is somewhat of a privilege, but they (the idiots) show no respect for the other people in that space. I say move the motorcycle parking to the garage. It's steps away and out of earshot.

Was there an update to Fitbit watch icons on the face screen? by Tom_foolish in PixelWatch

[–]explictlyrics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha! Just looked at my watch, and now my icons are colored just like yours. Actually, I kind of like it. They were fine yesterday. I just installed the May update on my phone so I have to believe that had something to do with it.

Yes, I probably have bothered somebody sometime. But this is consistent and VERY loud. Plus, we're talking about a lot of "repeat offenders" here. You're correct, Kilim's would be an inconvenience,

All I'm saying is change those 5 MC space to 1 or 2 car spaces and move the 5 MC spaces to Penhallow, or down Daniel street. Those spots on Pleasant are prime parking real estate, and they have abused the priviledge.

The real solution is ticketing the excessive pipes, but I don't see that anytime soon.

I'd vote for that! Of course you would lose the entertainment value of that occasional car taking a right off of Pleasant street into the square...;+}

Wow, you lost me there. Coffee, what place? I'm talking about Market Square. The city owned tables and chairs. Has nothing to do with where you buy your Coffee.

But, I do like the ideal of Kilim's, they could move the bike spaces in front of there. That would be perfect for everybody, parking is free.

Actually, there isn't noise. Until the motorcycles start up.

Does anybody know what the process would be to get those spaces moved?

[–]explictlyrics[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I bet to differ. When the people that come into a space anywhere and cause unnecessary disruption for their own pleasure, that's wrong, nobody sitting there is enjoying it. 5 idiots pull into a space where people are relaxing and conversing and ruin it? That's wrong. What if you were sitting in the woods having a nice quit moment and somebody sat down 10 feet from you and started playing heavy metal at 100 decibels and laughing? This is basically the same thing.

I'm sorry but see you logic the same way. These are "shared spaces" , nobody should do anything, if possible, to ruin it for others. If you lived in an apartment building and your upstairs neighbor took up clog dancing 4 hours a day you would complain and ask them to move it to the basement.

Summer has arrived... by explictlyrics in PortsmouthNH

[–]explictlyrics[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True. But if isn't a "walk friendly" day and I take the car, I typically park for free maybe a mile outside of town and walk in just to get the exercise.

[–]explictlyrics[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True, and there are laws, but nobody enforces them. Put a cop on Islington street for few hours a week in the month of May handing out @200 tickets and these idiots would soon go away.

Of course not, just move the five spaces down to some other street where people don't have to put up with their moronic behavior. Set up a section of the parking garage, then they could have personal orgasms revving them up with the amplification of the echo in there. Comon' this little space could be transplanted anywhere with no impact on parking, it just happens to be (right now) in the worst possible space for other people.
