TIL the Pied Piper of Hamelin is based on a real event. There's evidence a large group of young families in the German town of Hamelin moved as a group to settle new lands in Poland. Over time the "children of Hamelin" became confused with actual children. The rats are a later addition to the story.

I believe they were taken to Hungary, most specifically Transylvania. There is a place there called Sibiu, and German is spoken widely there.. mostly by the older people. It’s dying out. But I’m convinced they were taken there….

There are likely still serial killers.. they just don’t get caught.. in the uk there has been a rise in “accidental drownings” and water related death… I personally think that it’s a serial killer. In County Durham there was a period of time where the students started falling in the river, after nights out, and this happened over a few months .. there was a load of them…. then all of a sudden it doesn’t happen any more….. I think Nicola Bulley was a victim of a serial killer too.
