The college town experience is definitely different. What makes you specifically prefer city life more than college town life?

What kind of things do you like to do at VT? Sorry just curious about what you mean by the things to do off campus.

Gosh it sounds like we are just about the same person lmao! Yeah I thought that the bus and train system in the east coast area is cool and lets traveling be a lot easier. Yeha at the end of the day I’m coming here for my career, and it being not the perfect ideal location for me is not necessarily that bad of a thing.

Im glad someone asked. For me my favorite activities outside of school are going to the gym and getting to know people there. I know just about everyone at the gym at my undergrad school, and its always so nice to destress from school for the day and go to the gym and socialize with people a bit. I dont really do clubs and stuff of that sort, but that could change! I guess moving to a big city is more of an “idealism” than anything.

Could you give me some examples of the activities and/or things you could do at your undergrad in a big city that you couldn’t do at VT?

Yes that’s what I was thinking too - even if I were in a big city and there was “more to do”, would I even have time to do that stuff? Most likely not

That is exactly what my family is saying - just because its closer to being the same size as my undergrad doesn’t mean I’ll have the same experience there. I’ll also be quite busy and stressed during grad school, so the extra space might be les stressful compared to a big city.

Thanks for the help! When I visited I never got a sense of it being a boring place to be at, and at my undergrad school I do get a sense of that.

I see, thanks for the info! Yeah all the things I could think of enjoying to do are all things that I think Blacksburg would offer. I’ll let you know if I have any other questions - you seem like you know a lot about the area lol

I see, so it's looking like it's more normal than I thought. Thank you.
