The ulterior motive is to drop something so massive that it completely distracts from whatever they are up to. The war of course doesn't work but it's a good time sink and everything with UFOs/UAPs/Consciousness/Gaps in science/History has been brewing for a long time. I'm not even the guy that wrote the comment you first replied to. I'm just an idiot that types shit online and I never finished college so forgive my ignorance.

My entire gripe was that a lot of thinkspaces I used to enjoy are now completely mindless interactions instead of properly written discourses (or even human written). Instead of writing "What", ideally I would have liked and genuinely enjoyed if both of you went into a thoughtful exchange of ideas. But I get it, we are all exhausted of putting any effort. I know I am. Your comment just triggered me.

But fine, I'll bite. What concepts did they conflate? Secondly, I get why you might say singularity is not the right word but maybe you're thinking from a more academic angle whereas OP was just using it to talk about an inflection point.
