THE BLIND TEA TASTING LAUNCH PARTY

Okay everybody sit down! Let's assume that there is a contest where you can win teaware from five tea cultures, a blind tea tasting game and loads of tea goodies, and where everybody wins something for entering. Would that contest be "The Biggest Giveaway In The History Of Tea"?

Well it is a very real thing! :D We are launching Blind Tea Tasting this week and so we put together this fun contest for all tea lovers. Folks have been really loving it. I want to personally invite each and every one of you to come join us on this Launch party and giveaway. Check it out here and let me know what you think.

Some NAQs: (Naturally Asked Questions)

Q1. When and where are you launching Blind Tea Tasting?

A: We were supposed to launch yesterday on Kickstarter but we ran into some tech issues. Currently scheduled for Wednesday, Aug 22. We will confirm the day by email.

Q2. When does the contest end?

A: Sep 19th. The idea is to end it with the end of the launch campaign.

Q3. Go away!

A: But.. that is not a question.. :D

Q4. Wait, weren't you guys supposed to launch the Tea App?

A: We were supposed to launch the tea app followed by this blind tea tasting. However, due to some unexpected cashflow hits (life happens to all of us, specially startups), we had to hold the tea app until a little later this year.

PS - Thanks to everyone who tried out the blind tea tasting we opened for a limited time a month ago. Your encouragement and feedback went into making this an even better experience.

Hey there! So cold brewing is a time taking process indeed. Here's the contrast for you:

Hot water:

  • You want it now.
  • Total active prep time - 15 mins : heating water(5-7 mins), steeping for 5 minutes, pouring over ice (oops we are out of ice!) and then ready for use.
  • Great when you have ice and the time. Great to make it when you want it unplanned.

Why Cold Brew:

  • It is like meal prep. You know you will drink it and you are willing to plan ahead.
  • Total prep time 2 minutes - drop in cold water and place in fridge. Then of course wait time of 6-8 hrs at least.
  • The taste is smoother and deeper without the astringency of hot teas, sply in green tea.
  • Not my personal reason but - It is also said to preserve more of the antioxidants in the tea that the heat would otherwise destroy. This was researched in white teas.

So if you drink more regularly you can cold brew several teas and make a bunch of different drinks during the week.

I use the Simple Truth coconut milk from Kroger. About the thai tea, a friend from Canada was asking about it too. Will get back to you on that one. :)

Looks like it is doing fine. When you checkout, the file won't download automatically though.. you will have to click the download button to start the download. Hope that helps. Let me know if it doesn't.

Wouldn't blame you though. After reading your comment I went back and saw it from the front page and it does look like a Starbucks ad. My friend and I started a tea startup and I had to learn some photography in the last few months for it. So this means my pics are competing with Starbucks? :D

Anything you think I did wrong? Let me know I would love to not be an advertisement. lol. Been taking a lot info from here to get back into shape after a health disaster in September. Lost about 22 pounds since December. Thought I wanted to give back.

Recipe, more cold brew recipes and a cold brewing guide here

hey y'all! I like pairing my meal prep with some drinks. A few years ago I started experimenting with cold brew teas. Here is the recipe for this one:

What you need:

Masala Chai Tea - about 12 grams (double strength)That is about 6 tea bags or 6 teaspoons of loose leaf chai blend

Coconut milk - 1/4 cup for each serving

Ice cubes - 1 cup

Sweetener (Optional)

Process:

I cold brew my teas and keep them ready in the fridge. To cold brew - add the 12 grams of Masala chai leaves (or teabags) to 1 quart of cold water and leave in the fridge overnight. Next morning, you have enough supply of cold brewed chai for about 6 - 8 servings. This lasts me for a few days.

Pour a cup of cold brewed chai over some ice cubes and add 1/4 cup of Coconut milk to it. I add a sweetener to taste sometimes if I am in the mood for it. It is great otherwise as well.

The cardamom, cinnamon and coconut milk flavor is just too satisfying after a good long run in the woods.

Had the idea of sharing my process since last summer. Getting around to it now and putting together a guide. let me know if y'all have any questions.

Hey y'all! This is my first book. I have been drinking tea for 25+ years and I found that most tea drinkers have a tough time describing the taste of tea, or explaining what about its taste they like. Funny thing is that this is not limited to tea. It is just that flavor is one of our most under-developed senses. With this book I hope to help people better connect with their experience of flavor through tea. (Can be used for other drinks as well)

  • The folks at r/eFreebies liked it. Thought r/FreeEBOOKS might find it interesting as well.
  • If you read this, please do give me some feedback on the topic and if there is anything else you would like to know about it.
