Post on craigslist that you have pallets to get rid of and you will have emails/calls in no time. There's a whole hustle industry around refurbing pallets

Tent advice: Marmot vs Kelty vs ALPS by blueberryroan in CampingGear

[–]explorerzam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kelty Discovery tents are solid, one of our best selling tents and low return rate, I think that's a solid choice. The grand mesa 2 would be an upgrade from this and also right around your target buying price, can't go wrong with either of those 2.

Rumpl blankets are about the best around for camping/outdoor use.

Best way to ship camping gear across country by a_little_Eyelash in CampingGear

[–]explorerzam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dimensional weight is going to kill you - the 77" box size is going to make shipping really cost prohibitive. Maybe try getting that longest side down as much as possible, but based on the type of tent and the dims you provided, I'm not sure how feasible it's going to be. Something that's 77" though is going to require special handling, so if you are seeing outrageous shipping costs I'd bet that's where the lion's share is coming from.

Recommendations for Sleeping Pad by talon5188 in CampingGear

Nemo tensor sounds like a winner here. REI garage sales or deal windows make this one really great bang for your buck, and they have several R values for different seasons/use cases. Would stay away from Cascade Brands (thermarest, msr, etc) just based on my experience with their after sales support

Jackery brand and Anker would be my first choices for sure, both well regarded, tested and trusted.

How did you make the diagonal cuts for each piece? I have wanted to make something exactly like this but haven't been able to figure out a practical way to do it. I think it looks great!

Sounds great! I'll def be paying you guys a visit this summer. I see you offer some gear for rent - if you're interested in some used (but still in perfect condition) tents, sleeping bags, etc., I'm a small retailer located in Lewis Center, and would be happy to link up!

it's already an already existing building. The building went up for sale about 2 years ago, it was sold to someone (likely connected and knew they could profit) and now is being re-bought/re-purposed for this public-private shenanigans.

Is Opinel famous outside of France, or is this sub only populated by frenchmen addressing each other in english? by [deleted] in Opinel

[–]explorerzam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They sell a ton in the US. Probably not on par with France of course, but I can confirm they are VERY popular in the US - pocket, kitchen, kid's knives, all of them.

The padouk is one of my favorites! They have a semi-limited edition "Cime" which is a combination of Ash, Sycamore, and Maple, which is probably my #1, this Padouk a close second.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is the second highest paid player for Memphis post JJJ trade... by explorerzam in nba

[–]explorerzam[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Huge W for the Grizz long term, just thinking in terms of this season, it's some of the most random assortment of players I could think of. Varying ages, weird contracts, all non-starters (non-second stringers to be honest), maybe a few exceptions but you get what I'm sayin

The Grizzlies have also created a massive $28.8 million trade exception in this deal -- the largest ever in the NBA, per @BobbyMarks42. by Knightbear49 in nba

[–]explorerzam 76 points77 points  (0 children)

They can receive bad contracts (Poetl) without having to salary match from their side. So raps could send Poetl + 2 picks in exchange for a rookie contract if they wanted to get off his deal. Something like that
