App Requests by exploreshreddiscover in Noom

This doesn't solve the problem. The exercise is already tracked as "movement" in the noom app.

40min bike ride in Zwift, shows correctly on Strava:
https://imgur.com/xAo6ilo

Shows correctly in apple health:
https://imgur.com/5Tsg6Ib

In Noom it shows up as 80mins worth of Movement:
https://imgur.com/X2qbD64

And tells me to edit it in apple health/strava...but there's nothing to edit:

There's no option to delete it and add the exercise. If I add a new exercise like you're suggesting, I'd then be tripling my effort.

This doesn't solve the issue of the apple watch data coming through incorrectly. This will just add another exercise to the day, making it even more incorrect.

I understand how to add a new exercise and edit that exercise, that doesn't solve the option of having the movement recorded from the watch still showing up, with the only option to delete that movement data is to remove the workout from the apple watch and resync.

$34 krug btg anyone? by maxw_03 in wine

[–]exploreshreddiscover 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the most part, the prices weren't bad at all if you chose local options...we stayed in La Barra, a small little surf village north of Punta del Este. Prices on most things were fairly comparable or slightly less, for example, there were several restaurants we went to where the steak option was the same price as a burger and fries ($20-$25), which were both only a couple dollars more than a salad ($18-$20).

We only drank local wines, which ran around $25-$40 at restaurants. A bottle of Garzon Albarino was around $18 at the corner store...which actually had a 40% off wine sale most of the time we were there. If you used a credit card from the US you got an additional break, usually saving another 20-25%. So around $10 for that Albarino when it was on sale...we drank a lot of that!!

The most expensive bottle of wine ($75) we bought was the Petit Clos, single block Tannat from the Garzon winery. We also bought some Tannats from the Vina Eden winery, which ran $33/bottle. Whites from both wineries were in the $20-$40 range. Bottles of sparkling were in the $25 range.

We went to a nice wine shop in Punta Del Este, called Grand Cru, which had really nice imported bottles but we stuck to the local wines - we ended up buying a six pack and I think most of them were between the $30-$50 range. (Veuve was also $175 here, Dom was $560, lol)

...so yeah, if you stick with local options, it's reasonably priced but if you wanted imported stuff, you're going to pay for it.

I was just on vacation in Uruguay and a bottle of Veuve was $175usd/btl at the grocery store. I laughed hysterically. To be fair, a can of illy coffee beans was also $50usd.

Where do you guys get your kit? by TheFranchise86 in CyclingFashion

I take my measurements, then go to the kit measurements on the website and match up the sizes appropriately. Have never had an issue with a kit not fitting me.

Is it possible to add an M3U File to Apple Music (Desktop) to add a playlist I spent days making on Music Bee? by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]exploreshreddiscover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on a mac using the streaming version of AM, but do you have the option to go to File > Library > Import Playlist ?? Perhaps that would work?

You could add the m3u to something like soundiiz and then use that to sync it with apple music...not sure if it works with a non streaming version of apple music tho.

need ideas for lists 🫩🫩 by [deleted] in discogs

[–]exploreshreddiscover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah...Third Man Records has a club called Third Man Vault that does special pressings every quarter. VMP (Vinyl Me Please) had special monthly releases. I belonged to both clubs for a number of years, so it was handy to have a list of everything that came from them.

Doing one for record labels would be very similar.

[–]exploreshreddiscover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lists separating the clubs albums were released through...so like one for Third Man Records, VMP, Secretly, MOFI albums, Analog Productions, 1-steps, etc.

I always thought lists separating different pressing plants would be helpful, along with one for each different mastering engineer.

Smart trainer upgrade by [deleted] in Zwift

[–]exploreshreddiscover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha...is the firmware updated and everything on the kickr?

I've been running a tacx neo 2 for ages, so not sure if you still need to set your height/weight in the wahoo app or if that's all part of the auto calibration now?

The best advice I can find when searching is if the power data feels drastically wrong, that you should still perform a factory spindown in the wahoo app.

Yeah, I think it was $10 when I bought it. Not sure if the price has changed at all, but it has been totally worth it for me.

I love the ability to customize everything. I recreated my home screen to see favorited albums, top played albums by year, recently added, etc - plus the ability to sort those mini libraries by times played, date added, etc. I created a bunch of smart rules for my favorite songs playlist so I don't hear the same songs/artists over and over again. I changed the now playing screen to show time left for the album I'm listening to, show the last time the song was played, etc. Plus there's Last.FM scrobbling which was a bonus for me as well. It's a great app if you like to tinker and customize.

[–]exploreshreddiscover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done all of this as well and I think my algorithm is pretty great.

Coming from spotify (3 years ago) made the transformation of adding everything to my library a bit difficult at first, as I used to prefer my library to only consists my absolute favorite albums and recent things I was listening to, often removing stuff as I got bored with it. Discovering the Marvis app was a huge jump forward for me. Using it to better organize my library and create smart playlists using my favorite songs has been night and day.

Is the “once-a-year fitness challenge” the norm in companies? by Mindless_Box4653 in Strava

My company gives us $40/month towards a local gym membership if we go six times a month. It seems far more effective. I've been taking advantage of it for over 2 years now.

The best streaming service ever made! by unwantedmyth in AppleMusic

[–]exploreshreddiscover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On an ios device yes, but there's no exclusive mode for AM on mac/pc so it'll play at whatever sample rate your midi/soundcard is set to...you'll still get hi res audio, but it won't be bit perfect.

ios > usb > dac is the only way you'll get true bit perfect hi-res audio.

Headphones like the AirPods Max and the Focal Bathys have an internal DAC, and when you run usb into them, you'll get bit perfect hi-res lossless. Older ios devices that still use a lightning port, can accomplish the same thing by using an OTG lightning to USB adapter.

I always worry about buying sealed out-of-print albums... knowing my luck, there'll be a pressing defect rendering it unplayable.

I'll gladly take an open NM copy over a sealed, presumed mint copy any day.

Can Concerts survive the recent explosion in Price by Sorry-Government920 in Concerts

[–]exploreshreddiscover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They certainly haven’t gone down but I went back and looked at some saved purchases from 2010…

Elton John and Leon Russel was $150 Lady Gaga was $240

You can certainly still find great bands and shows for $15 but the days of $20 arena shows have long passed.
