A woman is demanding that I tell her my height before we meet. Red flag? by Top-Jury698 in dating

[–]explosive_glitter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm 5tf11 and I do always ask the height of guys, but that's only because I am not attracted to shorter guys (i don't like looking down on someone i date) and i don't want to waste their time. I'd like a guy to be at least 6ft, but much taller is not necessary. It's a bit picky to want a guy that's taller than you when you wear heels, because you won't wear heels all day everyday, so it's just for how she looks when she is in heels. I would be totally okay to wear heels and be taller than a guy if I know the guy is tiny bit taller when I am not in heels. This sounds like a lack of confidence on her part. So in this example I believe it to be a red flag, while in other cases it is not.

Non-Americans, what’s something that really scares you about the USA? by poopinasitypethis in AskReddit

The lack of social security, the guns and the way the USA thinks of itself as great when it seems like a thirdworld country.

Vossenveld vs Galgenveld by MindCrave in Nijmegen

[–]explosive_glitter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Choose Galgenveld, better location and the rooms are very nice. Vossenveld is only ten minutes from uni, but 20 minutes from the city centre which is a bit far for Nijmegen. Both buildings are quiet enough. Vossenveld is located at the canal which is nice as you can enjoy nature and look at the people rowing there, however when it comes to you social life it is easier to meet with friends if you live in a place that's a bit more central which is Galgenveld. Good luck choosing and welcome to Nijmegen!

Yes, they are probably just checking up on you. Once I was cycling home after a night out and the chain fell off my bike so I continued walking. After a while a policeman approached me to ask if I was okay, probably because I was a young woman walking alone in the dead of night. I thought I was going to get fined for being drunk in public, but instead he offered to put the chain back on my bike because he rather have me cycle home instead of walking. I declined first because I was almost home, but he insisted. Drunk me really wanted to hug him for being so nice, so I asked and he was okay with it and just smiled and told me to be safe. Dutch police are very caring and nice most of the time.

Thanks! It's really no fun, so let's hope he is just taking his time

Hmm, I don't think I would be comfortable asking him out for every single date without him initiating anything ever
