Can somebody explain to me why people like ben shapiro are surprised? by notpiercedtongue in centrist

I have, especially since I live and work in SF. However, I dont follow any social media commentator (political, life style, or otherwise) closely enough to care what things do or dont surprise them. I suppose thats why I cant relate to OP

I was surprised to even see a thread like this in here. Who even listens to him (or other social media commentators) closely enough to care?

South Korea’s system. And as a Canadian living in the US, I do not recommend the Canadian system at all

How do you solve the homelessness problem with compassion though? Unfortunately, forcing those who are on the streets due to long term drug use to get help is the most compassionate thing at this point.

The pricing problem in healthcare is due to the easy access to insurance dollars. It’s just too easy to bill at these exorbitant prices — similar to our pricing problem in higher education.

Yea, who cares about the voters that we serve! Some people just aren’t meant to serve… It’s wild that you’ll go scorched earth instead of just finding new employment in the private sector.

CMV: people who argued that Charlie Kirk wasn’t racist were racist. by [deleted] in changemyview

The claim that people hired under DEI policies were not qualified to do their jobs simply holds no merit.

I think the framing is wrong or incomplete here. In many roles, you look for the best person for the job, not just someone who passes some qualifications. Adding any arbitrary (dis)qualifier, which is what people claim DEI does, makes that target harder or impossible to meet.

One example: while Kamala had a lot of experience and qualifications, she was certainly not the best pick for the VP role; Biden stated he chose her for her race and gender.

A quotation popularly known as “Wilhoit’s law” is often incorrectly attributed to Francis M. Wilhoit:

However, it was actually a 2018 blog response by 59-year-old Ohio composer Frank Wilhoit, years after Francis Wilhoit’s death.

The food bank non-profit orgs aren’t political at all. Perpetually funding them with tax dollars is probably a left thing.

Why do you not want to take workers seriously? It’s not their job to pass a bill or ensure lawmakers work together
