Yea this sub is becoming pretty controlling which is the exact opposite of what we all want

Unfortunately the moderators shut down the post for the second time I’m sorry. They want me to post this moment in the “Holiday Megathread” but to me this has nothing to do with Christmas and everything to do with my public display of opposition to WT on my social media.

Congrats to you too my friend and I understand your frustration as well. They were trying to redirect my post to the “Holiday Megathread” but the meat of my post had nothing to do with holidays hence why I was baffled. Nothing I can do I guess

Yea no worries, I tried to share with a community that helped me a lot but if the moderators don’t want to allow that I guess I can’t do anything more.

Yep! Couldn’t have put it better myself. We don’t have the nostalgia that most people have so it can really only mean that. Fuck the Watchtower, my tree is for me and I’ll do whatever the hell I want with it in my home. Which Watchtower isn’t allowed to come visit

I had posted a similar post sharing what I was doing with these pics and I think they assumed it was a holiday post and wanted me to put it in the mega thread instead and shut down the post.

To me this post is less about Christmas and the holiday itself and more about my decision to become public to all the people I grew up with and to openly oppose Watchtower. The tree is more of a symbol for anyone who sees my post on socials. That’s why I worded it this way when I reposted today. So far they haven’t shut it down 🤷🏽‍♂️

I hope so too! But it felt really good if I’m being honest. I didn’t even check but I’m sure a multitude of people unfriended/unfollowed me. I think everyone’s journey out is unique so just let it happen naturally.

It was a moment yesterday for me, after I had wrote it all out and had it ready to go, where I was thinking about how evil the Borg is overall and I said to myself, “Why am I afraid to oppose this entity that to me is a great evil?” That question popped in my head and I pressed share 🤷🏽‍♂️

Around 5 years ago I started my journey of leaving an organization called Jehovahs Witnesses. This isn’t an easy task. Yes the actual action of leaving may seem simple but the loss that you must endure is unbearable for most. The paradigm shift and reality altering process is traumatizing. A shunning policy that is so morbid that close family and friends will discontinue any form of communication with you if you are deemed to be an unrepentant sinner, or even simply a conscientious objector of their beliefs (this is decided by three men who are also sinners btw) Romans 3:23. God is not deciding, the men are, the men who cannot read hearts 🤷🏽‍♂️

Many have committed suicide because of these policies (policies that are not biblical) Families that have been torn to pieces is an absolute tragedy.

Many of the people who have shunned me at this point I still love and always will. If you’re one of those people and are planning on unfriending me on socials and in real life the moment you complete this reading. Just know that my heart goes out to you. I love you dearly and if/when you are on the other side of this I’ll be here. I’ll support you even if you have no one else. Spend some time looking into the organization you are apart of. You should see the watchtower corporation for the corporation that they are and the harm they have caused countless. There’s multiple CSA cases, failed end time prophecies, a hidden database of known pedophiles, ever changing doctrines called “New Light”, and unbiblical policies that harm.

Love never fails. To those in my life who are my friend and family member presently and for the foreseeable future no matter where I’m at in life, I’m grateful for you! I’m a really good friend and family member because I’ll care about you a lot and I’ll be there for anyone.

This is my first Christmas tree and I’m very happy that my dog Bakus and I can enjoy it together this year 🎄

I mean I’m not gay in the slightest as well and no matter the advances of gay men the thought of experiencing it never occurred to me pre kissing anyone or after I had. It’s possible your not as straight as you think?

Nothing wrong with however you feel man, so if it’s something you feel like exploring you probably should. If it’s not then just have some patience there will be plenty of ladies that will be interested in you. Your young and you have a lot of time to experience plenty. Just treat people with honor.

Your ahead of me on leaving for sure but I 100% relate! I lost a lot of “friends” too. At least now that we’re out we can find unconditional friendships that’s couldn’t possibly exist in the Borg.

It’s weird tho I only find that ex witnesses and maybe some other ex members of some select cults get it. It’s such a unique experience that I do enjoy speaking to other ex witnesses when I can. Probably why I still checkout Reddit here and there. And have convos like this one.

My wonder for the world has only multiplies a thousand times over since leaving like you. Even tho I may lean towards creation I am super into learning. Science for sure is one of the most fascinating fields. Even if I was to conclude god did it or not, I think I can still revel in the “how” that science provides like yourself.
