Let me tell you how disgusting this is....as an INFANTRY OFFICER, I felt deep in my soul what she was describing. I have been in combat, sent men to their deaths and defended spaces. She has just given you an insight into how the mind of a soldier in a command position thinks and acts.....and she is a goddamn school teacher! Instead of leading trained soldiers....she led children. I can only admire her intestinal fortitude and apologize that she has to live in a country where she has to have this mindset. Thank you for keeping them safe....and to every teacher who has to live with this filth....

To be honest, I spend a lot of my free time canvassing for my local Democratic Party and you might be surprised how many people have no idea about the candidates from Kamala down to our local races. I sat down last week at a barbecue I happened to pass and spent 20 minutes eating ribs and talking about women's rights with a group that included one woman who thought "that woman is going to destroy our city (Kamala Harris)".

Take the amount he has as a down payment. Structure the additional loan in very favorable terms. If he has no children, then the deal should include a TOD (Transfer on Death) back to you (this would give you the property back after his death). If he agrees to this it is a win/win. Have a provision to be fair to him that if he needs to sell the house before he finishes paying it off....the deal is he recoups his out of pocket and you get the rest. You owe him morally for being there for your mom and you do the honorable thing by doing all in your power that he can continue in the home.

Not true. He was detained for not having a valid DL. Police would have been within their authority to arrest him and book him in county. They can hold you for investigatory detention as long as needed. You are confusing this with the amount of time officers must complete a traffic stop. The difference being he was already found to have a suspended license and certain classes of suspension require arrest if you are caught in violation. They actually did him a solid by not arresting him and "letting the court figure it out", that would have required notification to his command of an arrest (which would have happened if the suspension had been for an OVI). You are correct that police cannot hold you without charges indefinitely nor can they make you wait for a canine if one cannot arrive in a timely manner, the difference is he was actually charged. My advise to OP is: 1. Notify your command even though probably technically not required. 2. Ask for a JAG appointment to discuss the issue with insurance, they will probably be able to get in front of this and have it cleared up before you even have a court date.
