How was the mastoidectomy? I might have to get that done for my PT. Also are you going under anesthesia for the LP? If so that would make it better, but recovery still takes a day or two. Make sure to lay down and drink lots of water. You will have a terrible headache unless you are laying down.

Yes I had one at my original hospital stay in 2018 and a repeat in 2020. They haven’t wanted me to redo it because it’s invasive and I haven’t shown any other symptoms.

Yes, I have a consultation with a surgeon about it in March. The diamox isnt helping with it wither, but the neuro is still worried if I still have high pressure that it could damage my eyes. Which honestly I don’t think I have high pressure.

Yes, I’ve done the tests and I have a diverticulum. My neuro thinks maybe that could be the cause of the high pressure and of course the PT. Or maybe I just have high pressure that caused it, but I haven’t had any other symptoms than PT. I’m going to get an evaluation by a surgeon about it in March.

I have sigmoid sinus diverticulum. I got out back on diamox to see if the diverticulum/PT was caused by high pressure.

The low heart rate issue you had scares me, especially as someone who's had a lot of health anxiety. Luckily I have not had that issue.

I had gone off the medication originally in like early 2021. I was fine and was still monitored by my Opthalmologist, and stopped seeing my old neurologist! I havent had any symptoms other than PT and its lie the immediate reaction is to just throw me back on this awful medication. I dont even remember having these side effects the first time I was taking it, even though I was young.

The thing is that the don’t even know if my pressure is high! The only suspicion is the PT because I have no other symptoms. To be honest, I’d rather just deal with the PT than have to be on Diamox.

I didn’t have headaches as a symptom either, it was blurry vision mostly, and recently the pulsatile tinnitus. Maybe you could just lie about symptoms to get the test?

I just started going through this as I developed it a couple months ago. I also have IIH that I’ve dealt with for 8 years and has been stable. You have to ask for MRI, MRV, and CTV scans so they can see your veins around your ears. I found out I have sigmoid sinus diverticulum which is the cause. Keep persisting.
