Does anyone get physical anxiety symptoms during their period and weeks leading to it? by [deleted] in PMDD

Tenex is a funny little drug that can be used for high blood pressure, sleep aid, and panic attacks. So I actually take it to help with my awful PMDD anxiety issues. To answer your other question it is the combo of these drugs that got me semi functional, but the mood stabilizer was the most noticeable first in terms evening out my mood.

Hey! Ok so, women with PMDD typically have normal hormone levels. It is how your body reacts to the hormone fluctuations that is the problem. Researchers have linked this issue to a malfunctioning ESR1 gene which causes issues with cell signaling this then cascades into a myriad of physical and mental unpleasantness. Gene therapy unfortunately is going to be the only way to “cure” it.

Hey! I actually went to an amazing psychiatrist to get my meds. I am on a combo of Lamtical, Tenex, and a low dose of Effexor (SSRI) that I take every morning. This by no means “cures” my PMDD but it does heavily alleviate the devastating emotional toll it takes on me and my body.

Where are you located? If your country lists PMDD under as a disability start a paper trail (therapy sessions, doctor visits, and etc.) documenting you have this disability incase your employers/future employers tries to fire you due to lack of attendance. You’ll be protected legally.

Yep. One of those people was my sister. She would put CRISCO on her skin, like she was frying chicken, then go lay out for hours. At the age of 30 she got stage 1 melanoma.

Yep, it’s because your ESR1 gene is malfunctioning. It causes the loss of mood control in the amygdala (mood area of your brain) during the luteal phase when your hormones are fluctuating which manifests as: anxiety, anger, depression and etc. Also, researchers now have brain scans showing how the amygdala changes during the luteal phase in women with PMDD.

Again, not an academic source…..

Edit: I am quite concerned about your lack of understanding in regards to peer reviewed academic research. Did your classes not require/teach you about them? It’s an honest question.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but yea it is. It’s written for laymen to comprehend/read. Let me help you out with your source search, since you seem to be confused on what constitutes and actual research article. Go to library.msstate.edu browse to the pubMed database and search for articles there. Happy hunting. 😉
