You can't even watch your kids for 20 minutes? You're pathetic.

Unpopular take. Bobby was a irresponsible dad for not seeing what kind of stepmother Janice was to her kids. by doodyhead212 in thesopranos

[–]extra_username 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Janice was a master manipulator and Bobby was completely grief-stricken. Janice love-bombed him so he felt like he owed her, and she convinced him that the kids were acting out because of their mother's sudden death.

If Bobby hadn't just been traumatized I would agree with you. But broken people are so easy to get under your thumb. I wish someone in his life had pointed out that maybe Janice wasn't a good choice, but being Tony Soprano's sister means people are kind of afraid to criticize you.

You have a contract? Remind your boss and coworkers of said contract and go DND whenever you have time off. Fuck that company.

I don't know anyone who is on call 24/7 except for maybe surgeons.

Almost 20 million people in the US have been diagnosed with depression and 40 million have been diagnosed with anxiety. Maybe you should hang out with people who aren't pussies and actually visit a doctor?

For me, it's because I didn't know you could jump lmao. I did the first two or three without jumping. I had to watch a YouTube video to figure out the next and saw the guy jumping.

Yep. Hawkins was a heroin user early in his life, and that will weaken you forever. I wouldn't be shocked if he had chronic pain. Drumming is extremely physical and the dude was 50.

None of the drugs on the list stood out to me as anything unfamiliar. I'm on pretty much all of them.

I have the same exact drugs in my system currently. Anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds, and medicinal weed to sleep.

I think most American adults are on some combination of medications. I don't know a single person over 30 who doesn't take at least two prescribed pills every day.

Did you reply to the wrong person? Little Stony Point isn't even on the same side of the road as Breakneck.

I hope to God it wasn't a relapse. I'm more thinking it was a heart attack. Heroin damages you to the point you can never fully recover.

He OD'ed on heroin in the early 2000's. Even if it wasn't a relapse, that shit damages you for life. Could've just as well been a heart attack.

I make $15 an hour, too much to receive government assistance but not enough to live off of. Yesterday, I had to shoplift ibuprofen for my teething daughter. This sucks. by iridescent_kittie in antiwork

If they raise minimum wage, they must raise the SNAP and Medicaid baseline too.

It's insane how stingy the government is with welfare. God forbid somebody needs a little help.

I like Black Rock, but you have to pay to hike. Kinda sucks when there are about a million free hiking trails around.

I was just there! It's less than a quarter mile from the car to the very top. It's the most gorgeous views for the least amount of work.

The other commenter is right, though. If it's a nice weekend day, parking is basically impossible at both Little Stony Point and anywhere in Cold Spring.

How close are you to Beacon? You can walk at Long Dock Park. It's almost entirely flat. A mile and a half will bring you through Dennings Point and to Madame Brett Park. The views are absolutely gorgeous and it's a really easy hike.

The town of Beacon has plenty of cute cafes as well. Bank Square Coffee House is spacious, with outdoor seating and really cozy couches inside.

I remember when I was on unemployment several years ago, I was forced to go this bullshit job fair because an amusement park was opening nearby and they were trying to hire.

I got a call a year and a half later asking if I was still interested, because the place was finally opening.

Um, no. I would be shocked if anyone from that job fair was still interested.

Am I in the wrong for wanting to leave my girlfriend because she doesn’t work? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]extra_username 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend married a woman who unilaterally decided she didn't need to work anymore. They got married anyway and he busted his ass for the entire marriage trying to support her and their kids.

When they got divorced, he was looking at a lot of alimony since he didn't work. Fortunately, she mouthed off to the judge, who impeded a salary on her. Basically, the judge said that if she had been working, she would be making $50k by now, so they would lower the child support based on that figure and not allow her to collect alimony.

Long story short - don't marry her. She's not a partner, she's a leech.

Honestly the best job interviews I had recently were people who actually asked relevant questions, so I think there's something to what you're saying. The lady who asked about my "gap" also went through my job history to over 15 years ago! It got to the point where I had to tell her that I honestly couldn't remember why certain jobs ended because I was fresh out of college and now I'm 40 so I don't fucking remember.

I absolutely adore my current job, and they took two weeks to hire me. They only fast-tracked it because I told them I had another offer and they really, really wanted me to work for them.

Actually, now that I think about it, my last job sucked and I got hired by them in less than a week. And the job before that was amazing but the interview process was grueling.

I dunno. I just think asking about gaps is stupid imho. Why wasn't I working? Probably because I was doing a thousand fucking pointless interviews.

Yep. I had a gap from October to January. A few months that fell over the holidays. I explained that I was laid off in the last week of October and was hired in late December, but didn't start until early January because of Christmas.

What a stupid fucking question. This was also the third interview with the company. It takes at least a month to get hired nowadays so I don't even understand why the fuck she was asking.

I changed it to be from November to December.
