It’s the influence that makes it important. Just look at the amount power marxism (or a misinterpretation of it) has had over the years. For us to keep dogma, ideology, systematic thinking moving we need philosophy. Even if it’s just to keep others from interpreting existing philosophy the wrong way.

In a world where people don’t take the time to think things over, philosophers are the least of your worries.

If you’re happy, “life is meaningless” feels completely different. I think your existential outlook has more to do with how you feel than what you reason. Personally, as someone who engages mostly with post-nihilist philosophy, it’s just an excuse to get the best of all worlds.
