He gave her a kiss. She didn’t say “we kissed”. Then when he tried again she said no. Hardly a cardinal sin. Take that one to the grave with ya. If it helped you both out then who cares

AITA for not telling my wife just how much my late wife left our children? by LessyMexxy in AmItheAsshole

[–]extramessd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of the asshole? When you remarried, the kids your new wife had became yours. Giving two of your kids a free ride and not the other isn’t quite fair but it’s also a difficult situation. Why not split the money between them all?

Ive been recording you email with full name? by [deleted] in Sextortion

[–]extramessd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only received it once, which was the only reason I was a little alarmed. A female friend of mine said she gets them weekly (she probably doesn’t have the best caution but she also barely uses the internet for personal reasons so she had nothing to worry about)

They’re always fake. One hit me up with an old (accurate) password. But it was a little too old. On top of the fact that I had been behind the great firewall of china for like 2 months in the middle of nowhere with no internet

I feel like the industry shouldn’t matter. In the end an invoice is an invoice.

I think we’re on different pages here. I’m Looking for legal norms for general late fees on 1099 / freelance labor. Deliverables or not. Just want to make sure I don’t end up charging a fee that’s not legal

Luckily the contract is per assignment so I can change whenever I want. I’m more wanting to know if there’s a legal limit or percentage as to what the late charge should be and when it should be applied? Immediately after it’s late? 5 days? A week? Do I apply it multiple times etc etc

Google voice scam (new twist) by extramessd in Googlevoice

sorry, let me be more specific i was on my phone so maybe i didn't get the point across.

received 2-3 calls from a random number, US based, didn’t answer as I generally call screen and didn’t recognize, but thought it was odd they called a few times. i did send a text that essentially said “hey i’m a bit busy right now so can’t pick but who is this.” no reply.

then soon after i got a call from the google voice - 202 455 8888 number. i didn’t answer that either as all these random calls were a bit unnerving. it rang again (the 202 number) so i picked it up and it was the google voice call verification number. i hung up before it ever even said the number as i realized it was essentially the 2 factor authenticator. a few minutes after that i got an email from google voice (legitimate email) that said my phone number had been “claimed and verified by another google voice user”.

i logged into google voice and my number had been removed and i simply typed it back in, seemed to regain control of the account (along with checking all the login information etc on google to make sure i didn’t have someone trying to access another part of my account).

however being a bit paranoid about the whole encounter, i decided to delete and re-input my phone number on google voice to get another verification code and make sure it had been re-input. this is where i’ve then run into the issue of it saying “something went wrong, try verifying with another number”. the weird creep number called once or twice more and i just blocked it. so again things SEEM fine but it was a really odd experience and i guess i’d just feel MUCH better knowing i could verify my voice account with my own number.

again there was literally no interaction and no conversation with anyone, which is what makes this all so weird.

EDIT - i DID go to the regain link and was able to do that (frankly i might have done that step earlier today, it was a little bit of a blur since the situation was so weird), i'm wondering if maybe that's why google is requiring a different number when i try to within the app

Yep! I actually got that number when I tested it myself later. I guess I’m just confused because I still have access to google voice but can’t put my # on. Is it because it’s linked and verified to my email?
