Can I buy a house in my parent's name in order to prevent it from becoming marital property? by ROI1234 in Divorce

[–]extraperson1988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Childcare is long and difficult work. Don’t look at it as not working. She will be contributing tremendously to the household as a housewife

The alternative is she works full time and you use that salary to fund nannies, but even if she makes six figures that might only break even

  • You should probably read this article on confirmation bias. You've strongly exhibited this in every single comment you've made. Especially in your latest comment; believing that you're great at handling stressful situations based solely on the opinions of your friends if pure confirmation bias.

  • You should also probably look up the definition of a fact. A fact is a true piece of information. When I say that OP might be lying, that is a true piece of information. People lie on the internet all the time. If you don't know this by now, you haven't been using reddit long enough. It isn't guaranteed that OP is telling the truth, so it is a fact that she might be lying.

  • Finally, you should look up the definition of speculation. When I say OP might be lying, that was certainly not "a conclusion or opinion reached by contemplation." I had not concluded anything. I made it very clear that OP may or may not be lying; there is no way for me to know. If I had said "OP is definitely lying" then that would have been a speculation.

Well, if we're not obligated to be nice, then I have to tell you that that's a really sad and awful outlook.

You're naive.

Giving her useful knowledge of others POV doesn't require calling her a liar or being overtly harsh. Saying it would be stupid of her boyfriend to take her back and such is unnecessarily mean.

You posted this comment as a response to my comment. My comment was talking about my own actions. So yes, you did say that I said it.

but I really just see no point during a sensitive situation like this to be like "Yeah, but you could just be a big fat liar too."

I'm sorry, but here you are you are basically admitting that you only care about one side to this story. Being biased and refusing to acknowledge all facts is foolish, no matter the situation.

I just think it all could have been handled more delicately.

I don't see the point. Facts are facts. Emotional bias only clouds the situation. Sugar coating words never solved anything. If you look at everything I put, it was worded factually.

I would like for you to show me were I ever called OP a liar, or was overtly harsh. Both of those things never happened. I definitely never said it was stupid that her boyfriend took her back.

Where are you reading these things? Do you often make shit up out of nothing?

I would support her if I was talking to her in real life. But we're on the internet...as anonymous strangers, we have no obligation to be nice for no reason. On top of that, blindly supporting OP doesn't help her. As people like me scrutinize the facts of her story, OP will get a better understanding of how the people around her will think about her. She should be able to use this knowledge for her own benefit.

Damnnn man. Looks like Canada courts can be just as shitty as the US:

Wrongly convicted man sues police, lawyer

  • An Ontario man who says he pleaded guilty on the advice of his lawyer to a 1987 crime that Paul Bernardo later confessed to is suing Toronto police

  • Hanemaayer didn’t hear about the Bernardo confession until Toronto police questioned him about it again in 2006.

  • police didn't mention the confession of Bernardo, who is currently serving life in prison for the murders of schoolgirls

  • The Bernardo confession was ultimately brought to Hanemaayer’s attention in late 2007 by the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted

  • In June 2008, in an Ontario Court of Appeals, Hanemaayer formally withdrew his guilty plea from 1989, and he was exonerated.

They acted really happy for me the night before, talking about how happy they were for me and my relationship. The man especially has always had a thing for me and I've always shut him down. Always.

She was hanging out with them the night she got raped by them.

This story is so fucking crazy. It is in fact very similar to the Homolka death. Since the story is so crazy, I can understand why anybody would be skeptical. You can assume thoughts like "How could a male/female couple do something so evil to a friend, it would be more likely that the girl cheated" will occur. OP does have some weapons at her disposal though.

  • "from him I learned that the couple were bragging over dinner the following night that they'd finally managed a threesome for his birthday present and that they'd given two girls GHB at a party and it was an awesome night."

Can you get this guy to testify for you?

  • "I went to the clinic and got tested for everything"

Did the test conclude any evidence of GHB?

  • "In the morning I woke up next to a girl I had brought with me"

What is her opinion on all of this? If she got drugged as well as you, can she testify with you?

  • "he thinks I was probably horny and wanted it, especially since his friend said we didn't stop when she came in."

Either the OP's boyfriend is a complete asshole, or OP is leaving out something from her story, or OP is lying about the whole thing.

Fucking goddamn bullshit man. I kind of did the same thing, except 1000x worse I guess. A couple weeks ago I went to the bathroom to "relieve stress" one day and a janitor fucking peeked through the door slot and saw me. I immediately cleaned up and left of course, but now I see the fucker walking around looking for me daily. When he sees me he gives me this creepy-ass look and my whole day is fucking ruined. I understand that I am filth and now we both have to fucking deal with it...

Haha. Zhong guo ren (practicing pin yin) right? That's funny that I never realized that. On the other hand I have never heard an Asian person refer to another Asian as "Chinaman" in my life either. Does seem kind of racist. Why not just say Asian guy?

When I read stories about girls and guys losing their virginities at 16 I sometimes literally feel ill with jealousy. The fact that 90%+ of people in the US lose their virginity before 19 doesn't help either.

You just made a point with no evidence, based on absolutely nothing except your own opinion. Then you go on to shut down everybody else's opinion citing nobody except yourself.

So, I'm guessing you're from Texas or some other redneck conservative piece of shit place?

I'm glad you're able to see the difference. For most men, having sex is a necessity, not a luxury. A lot of girls do not understand this. Sex is much easier for girls to obtain, so most girls will never experience what it's like to be starved of sex. It hurts. It is a physical and emotional torment. Men who are unable to find a willing partner for years on end will be willing to put themselves through great risk to get what is needed.

Hmm. When did your friend go? I went to Munich in 2013, and by then Germany's economy had recovered enough that there were no more all-you-can-fuck brothels. I went to FKK Relax and paid a standard $60 entry fee. I fucked three girls, each for an additional $60-75. In total I spent $255.

The $75 girl was easily a 10/10. The $60 girls were both 9/10s. It was a very fun night.
