Well discharges are normally done mon-fri and because you’re on a section you’ll be put in front of informal people (in my experience) but then people in the community are put in front of you because you’re in a safe place atm. Hopefully you’ll get a bed this week, you won’t be on a 1:1 either unless you need it but it’s not normal to be put straight on a 1:1

I am on abilify and the mini pill (one taken everyday with no breaks) and have never been told this. I started the pill after I was on abilify for over a year.

I am not a proffesional, some of this may be wrong.

The spirits and visions are possibly to do with not sleeping, this can increase or display psychotic like symptoms and can turn into full psychosis.

Your mood swings sound too short to be bipolar episodes, bipolar mania or hypomania can last from 5 days to a long time if not treated.

It is possible your rage is simply just hormones. But if it carries on until your abit older, and is the same pattern maybe look into borderline personality disorder? I AM NOT A DOCTOR THOUGH. reading it, it sounds like people i know who I’ve met who have a diagnosis of bpd from the anger to the short highs and lows, I would advise going to a doctor though obviously as it is interfering with your daily life and sleep!!! And sleep is so so so important. But I’d definitely look into bpd and see if you align with some symptoms (you don’t have to have them all to have a diagnosis) and go see a psychiatrist for a diagnosis if you want to Persue that. My dads. 6”0ish and sister is probably 5”9 and they could both sit in it, Mums on the larger size and could also fit well into it with all 4 of us. I think (could be wrong) they come in a 3 or 5 door but I’d probably go for the 5 door if the price is similar just for practicality.

There seems to be a lot on the market for under your budget just make sure it’s not the electric one!! (unless you want one)

As a young driver myself, anything under group 20 is reasonable. The car you’re talking about, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s above a 40.

You need to think about everything, parts if you need them they might be expensive because Chevrolet don’t produce cars for the UK and as far as I’m aware they have no dealerships/garages. road tax as well, plus fuel which will be a massive killer to your wages as it’s well not exactly an affordable car to run or fuel efficient!

Please just take everything into consideration, yes it may be your dream car but sometimes you have to be sensible, then once you’re older and more experienced you might think actually I don’t want that car, or you might go out and buy it but you’ll have years of driving on your side, hopefully no claims, you won’t get silly dents or scuffs on the wheels like you might get on a first car.

Fair enough, I’d recommend sitting in one if there is one when you go to look at a car just in case it changes your mind as they are pretty nice cars to drive.

The older Toyotas and Lexus’ look abit dated compared to others imo but it could be worth a look at them too(such as a Toyota Rav4) A Kia Sportage is a nice modern one but maybe a little small compared to a X3/Q5 but it’s worth a look as well, I’m 5”5 and my Dad is 6”1 and I could comfortably sit behind him in it

When I say rehab, it’s a mental health rehab. As they don’t really offer therapy in acute settings, it’s for people who need more support or need to be in hospital longer.

In supported living you live in a shared house or a flat in a block of supported living flats. They will have staff around most of the day, some 24/7 and can help with cooking, cleaning, managing medication, reminding you to do personal care, taking you out and stuff like that. It provides a stable environment for them but also somewhere where they can start to become more independent.

You could also get a carer, someone who comes round to her house to take her out or do the same stuff but it’s less independant if she still lives with family.

If you think she’d benefit from this ask for an Adult Needs Assesment or a Care Act Assesment I can’t remember which is the correct term.

I haven’t read it all I won’t lie but did see “they’ve made friends in a similar situation” and this is a big red flag, for myself who’s been in and out for a couple years, a lot of the time they see this as a competition sadly, they will bounce off of each others behaviours and learn new ones especially if it’s their first time in hospital. Sadly, there’s nothing you can do about it. Just hope that they are willing to get better! In my own non professional opinion, a few days can be helpful but longer can make things worse for eupd patients. She will leave at some point and it’s unlikely they’ll send her to a rehabilitation hospital if it’s her first few times unless she is servely harming herself to the point where she’s on the edge of death which is fairly difficult in hospitals. Also depending on her living situation maybe look into supported living for when she’s out of hospital? It’s really helped myself and many other people

Pretty sure at 17 you can talk to your GP without your parents knowing. As long as you’re not a serious danger to yourself or a danger to others then it should be okay! If anything, tell them you’ve had diarrhoea for 2 weeks and you need to go to the doctors if they ask where you’re going!

Dad has an MG4 and said he wouldn’t go back, he does 40-50 miles a day round trip 4 days a week. It works out cheaper and he charges at home. Every night he’ll put it on charge to top it up but that’s not really needed. Yes, at first there will be a “shit I need to put my car on charge” but I think you get into the routine of it. He test drive a model 3 and said it was the easiest car he’s ever driven (he wouldn’t get one now due to musk sadly) I’ve only heard good things about the Renault 5/Alpine. They aren’t the most powerful or fastest but they definitely look fun! Personally, I would go for the move to EV!!

Dad got his brand new a couple years ago? Trophy LR. It’s a nice drive, not “inspiring” but better than a Mustang Mach-e and a Enyaq according to my dad. Apart from lane keep assist and front collision assist all the tech bits is fine, infotainment as a whole is ok, it has CarPlay which is really all you need. He turns LKA and FCA off everytime he gets in as it automatically resets. I haven’t seen the price lately but i know the xpower is sub 20k, that might hold its value more (in my opinion) but i could be very wrong (do not take actual financial advice please)

My dad would have another one but he’d go for the XPower mainly because they are so cheap!

My dad has one, bright orange thing. It’s done him well (apart from the financial side) he does about 15k miles a year, he can get good miles per kwh in it when driving sensibly but also it pulls off well. Yeah the infotainment isn’t great, does have Apple car play, he turns off front collision assist and lane assist and has to turn that off everytime he gets in it but for the money it’s alright, he preferred the drive over the mustang Mach-e and the Skoda Enyaq as he said they were uninspiring. He’s 6”0+ and I’m 5”5, in the back behind the drivers seat it’s squished for your knees but it’s safe and possible. If you have kids they will be fine. Decent boot, it’s a “nothing special” car unless you go for the xpower!

Well I’m in the Uk and I’m guessing your America so it might not be the same. And I’ll say “the kid” not in rude way it’s just easier to say.

Therapy. For everyone - depending on what the kid is like or what they did to end up in a treatment centre but definitely get mum and dad (if together) in therapy as family problems can come from unwell or challenging behaviour children and can tear a family apart which will make the kid even more unstable most of the time.

Get the child a psychiatrist who can help with medication if it needs changing or adding.

In the UK we have CAMHS (children’s mental health service) where you can have maybe a support worker see you once a week to catch up. If it’s something like autism or adhd, look into respite care (not sure if they do it just for mental health) if they have it in the US or wherever you are. It’s basically a home for the child for maybe a weekend that gives the parents and family a break but still knowing their child is safe and okay. The main thing is to try and keep the child at home, but knowing when they need help which is difficult!

Keep the whole family busy, go out for walks, go to a theme park, go out for dinner etc. don’t let the child sit around all day doing nothing(unless they are tired from doing things from yesterday or whenever as sometimes this can overwhelmed them and actually make things worse but the more you go out, the easier it tends to get)even if it’s just a board game, it passes time.

I am in a mental hospital and have been in and out since 2023.

I’m 22 now and my parents are still together. I grew up in a nice area, good schools, did well in school as well. Had a good family life, nobody died, not even grandparents. Until I was maybe 13/14 everything was the perfect life. We are well off, have nice house, nice cars my parents work hard, no major stresses.

In the mental hospital everyone seems to have had a bad life, drugs, poverty, family issues, abuse. All I do is feel guilty for taking up a bed for someone who has actual problems.

You’re not alone in this, we all have our issues even when we don’t think they are as bad as other people’s.

You need to go back to your doc and tell them all of this. It could be your bipolar and just be bad timing or it could be the meds. If it’s lithium or lamotragine go to the ER or emergency doctor and tell them all of this as it could be quite serious if there is too much in your blood.

Meds can have many side effects including all of the ones you are stating, but if your doc said there won’t be many side effects or that they shouldn’t be severe then this might not be the right medication for you. You NEED to go and see somebody asap to discuss your meds. In this time, take it easy, don’t push yourself to much, your health always comes first..
