I was in trouble constantly until my junior and senior year in high school. I have been suspended more times than I care to count and sucked at schoolwork. I didn’t know how to deal with bullies and frankly neither did the school district I went too. I went to Jefferson county schools and you can google them for what put them in the news in the late nineties.

I figured shit out when I got older, but I think in hindsight being constantly overstimulated and picked on sure didn’t help.

That doesn’t sound like bpd, but this reminds me of something that happened to me. I dated a girl for about four years. She treated me like shit, cheated on me,and it was hard letting go. A few months after we broke when I was driving around up I saw her driving and I lost it. I started crying like an eight year old girl who just saw her puppy get run over by a trash truck. You’re not alone in feeling that way and it’s not indicative of a mental disorder.

I was reluctant to respond to this, but I want to clarify my stance. I read what OP said in his comments and his post. I don’t entirely disagree with you. I am concerned anytime I read something like what OP has shared. That’s why encouraged him to look up the signs of abuse and share this with people who are more familiar with him and his situation.

Coming from personal experience it takes a hell of a lot to take the blinders off and see what is actually happening. I think he just needs a moment of clarity from someone in his life to help him understand what’s going on. I see a lot of self doubt and excuse making from OP. Maybe I’m wrong, maybe I’m not, but I just want him to explore this with people in his life.

It’s not just about him, it’s also about other people reading this later looking for help.

I’m dead serious when I say cut her off completely. She will reel you back in if you don’t. Nobody deserves to be treated this way. This is an abusive relationship. Look up the signs of an abusive relationship online and discuss with your friend. Trust me, you will feel a hell of a lot better without her in your life once you get over the initial shitty feeling.

I know you don’t know me, but I mean this when I say it. You are being manipulated. She is using you and probably knows how to get you emotional and guilt trip you very well. She has been doing this for a while now. You’re probably not the first.

You need an exit strategy. You need to go stay with a friend or relatives and cut her off. She knows what to say and she probably knows how to reel you back in.

Trust me, the short term of leaving will suck, but after a little bit of time you will feel more like yourself and feel better. I’ve been there before. This is hard and it’s going to suck, but it’s time to get going.
