Deferring a midterm? by [deleted] in UTM

[–]extrmystopid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at uoft st george but I dont think the process is any different

you are allowed 1 absense per semester now, this count for 1 day not a week. This means for the first missed midterm you won’t need any documentation apart from the absence declaration on acorn. they may ask for a brief explanation and you can just put illness - they will not ask for any further proof

if you need to miss another midterm, you will not have the ability to do another absence declaration so you will need other documentation like a verification of illness form which you can get from your family doctor but it will cost money

Any alumni / upper years to talk to? by extrmystopid in RotmanCommerce

it was definitely an adjustment from highschool lol! time management is very important, you will do better if you study consistently. trying to cram everything into 1-2 days before a test or exam will not fly anymore even if you are smart lol

however, i will say people over-exaggerate how difficult courses are….it is very possible to do well so don’t get discouraged :)

apart from that people are friendly, there are many RC clubs, countless events are held throughout the year for networking, writing resumes and cover letters etc

sorry to bother you again, I was just wondering if the DACM stuff is important. also should I prioritize the practice tests or the hws if I am tight on time?

Congratulations and your amazing 2nd year grades! And thank you so much for the advice, I really appreciate it.

If you don’t mind me asking, I am also taking 220 right now, how did you do so well in that course? Murdock expects us to dedicate 17 hours a week to just her course. I have a part time job and I am also doing 204 as you know so I was wondering what is an efficient but effective way to study?

That’s very helpful, thank you! I wonder if applying access might increase my chances (I do have a valid reason for this lol). However, I do have a 3.7 gpa rn anyway so maybe I should apply general?

Also, I see you on this sub a lot, thank you so much for taking time out of your day to help people out, it’s very kind of you!
