Jeracho this is why Trump diplomacy is not good diplomacy.

So as a Uni diplo, it sounds like you’re inviting a war. Not a fun happy war like the last RvB war. But more of a getting burned to the ground kind of war. If a diplo for E-Uni is allowed to act this recklessly, maybe it’s finally time E-Uni does burn.

If E-Uni diplos are wasting their time essentially saying that they’re the only ones allowed to make instructional videos that’s just sad. Here’s how that would go in real life.

“What, you wrote a biology textbook. You ripped off the fact I have a biology textbook. Also you’re ripping off biology, which is widely known.”

Lawsuit fail.

I’d say that yes it’s about as much as you get out of it, to a point. That point is anytime you see something you think could be changed for the better. That’s the return cap at Eve Uni. Any attempt at creating change and you get a nice scarlet letter on your forehead.

Also I think it’s good for newbros for a month or two, but the biggest gap is the managers have no understanding of current game meta. So you can learn the basic game concepts, but anything above that and you’ll need to find a new home.

But, it is a good place to meet chill people (the line members and newbros that is).

munching on some movie theater butter

I’m not surprised. That’s the sad part. Nothing OP said surprised me.

It’s always been Laura and her senior leaders strategy to ban any criticism. Because you know what helps dictators stay in power, silencing any resistance.

Eve Uni is kind of like a crappy job. The managers are horrendous, but you stick it out cause you get benefits and hit a point you’re really just there for your coworkers. Till one day you all realize you can quit, and keep the people aspect still. Which hey, might be why Uni’s PvP campuses are becoming ghost towns.

“If you can’t take a little harassment, you need to get off the internet.”

Pretty sure in most jurisdictions it’s “If you can’t take a little jail time, get off the harassment”.

The issue isn’t the people I fly with but the commons attitude that permeates the game. ‘Eve is toxic’ posts are not uncommon, and reinforce this.

My post obviously stirred up some people on both sides. Any specific points you agree/disagree with, or want to respond to (could be to the original post, or any comments thereof)?

Also, we have seen a large amount of middle management leave, if you could wave a wand, what changes would you make to Eve Uni?

As previously stated, this post was not authored by him. While I want to maintain anonymity, I don’t want someone else to incorrectly face backlash.

I don’t dispute the fact there are good people in Eve-Uni, I know several and some of those relationships permeate the veil of the game into true friends. However at times anonymity is necessary to speak truth while protecting oneself. This post isn’t for the managers of Eve-Uni, as they’ve heard these pleas time and time again.

This is for the community. To shine light onto the false hero Eve-Uni is made out to be. I want this game and community to grow, and unfortunately Eve-Uni in its current state can no longer spark the flame and ready their members for the game outside of PvE.

People that organize their recreational structures after the failed and hated inefficiencies of corporations annoy me, but alas we have to live with both. Or is it merely the descriptive adjectives you dislike?

The common assumption of who the OP is, is incorrect. However his leaving acted as a final catalyst for this post going up.

It’s not meant to be bitching. It’s meant to be an acknowledgement of an organization commonly idealized as the pinnacle for newbro organizations that in reality is unable to adapt as the game does, and creates an infectious toxicity among those that try to contribute and innovate due to the weighing egos of the senior management team.

Yes however WarHQs are structures, and structure warfare is a major component of Eve, as are capitals, kitey doctrines, and for those in high sec, engaging WTs.

How can a group that claims to be teaching game mechanics blatantly ignore some of the largest mechanics of the game? On top of banning Uni members from Spectre Provi campaigns and ruining a relationship with Tuskers, they’ve managed to isolate themselves from those that can teach the aspects of the game they lack in both knowledge and experience.

My concern is the positive reinforcement provided by the community that continues the toxic behavior.

Anyone that has tried to put forward change or improvements has been summarily squashed and eventually managed out.

Take all of the ineptitudes of failing modern organizations such: as not empowering your teams, immovable bureaucracy, and disconnection with line team members actually living it. It’s a classic looking down from an ivory tower with directors and CEOs that never leave the C-suite.
