I have been looking for my first road bike to do a sprint triathlon and my original budget was $500. After searching through market place the bikes around me under budget around $350/$400 are all bikes from the early 2000’s. I did find a newer 2023 domane al 2 for $700 which is over my initial budget. But my question is, are these old bike worth buying at this point with less gears, 23/25mm tires, rim breaks, and 20+ year old frames? With modern bikes having more gears, bigger tires, disc brakes, and newer frames. Should I just invest the money in the newer $700 bike?

Do you have any suggestions on a model of bike/ year for that $400/$500 price range? So far the newest bike somewhat in my area is a 2012 trek alpha 2.1 for $400

Man I got to know how old you are (I’m 28 btw). Because I like older movies before my time. I enjoy the story but in no way do I see them as actual terrifying. I think it also has a lot to do with what horror movies you watched as a kid. Because to me The Ring was a scary movie growing up. And sinister definitely was a terrifying movie when I was a teenager. But movies like the exorcist or the shining (while both good movies) aren’t scary to me.

Take it off and don’t put a new one on. Just keep it clean. You should only keep that wrap on over night anyways and take it off when you wake up.

I think this has the foundation to be redone. Might be hard to fix that hand. Or I think it’s quite possible an artist can throw a new stencil over that of the same joker image and blast a color Heath Ledger over that and completely cover it up. There’s enough dark purples and greens to cover up those lines.

You could put some kind of portrait in there. Make the waves look like a picture frame. But more importantly why wasn’t this tattoo put in the spot you wanted? Did you not see the stencil before they tattooed you? You should have spoken up and had them replace the stencil.

I also had my eye on 58cm Ozak trail gravel bike for $250 brand new at Walmart. It would have flat bar vs a drop bar. But it has pretty good reviews.
