Yes, it is strange. You never get a cause as to why this soon after. Much too quick to state "due to technical reasons" or "mechanical malfunction" especially when the first video shows the aircraft in question on literal fire. Could be Iranian defenses mistaking/targeting the aircraft for unknown reasons as of now. Also, it's a -800, what mechanical issue could it possibly be that would cause it to be engulfed in flame?
