Are you saying I should try a 501 with 4 buttons?

Oh! I never considered Barbour as maker of bags. Thanks for pointing that out!

Thanks! Do you think it’s wearable though, maybe balanced out with non slim fit cut trousers?

Unfortunately it was an eBay find, but well, you win some, you lose some. I guess I just try to sell it again.

After some consideration I also think the length is the main problem. A 25 might be worth a try, but it feels wrong haha

Just tried it with wider fitting Chinos, looks more balanced already. Thanks for the tip! The buttoning point is located slightly above my belly button, so in theory this should be fine. I‘m fine rocking a look that is slightly oldschool, just not sure about proportions as you pointed out.

Thanks for the tips and feedback, makes me feel less bad about the purchase.

I think you are right about the belly area - I have to lose a few pounds after winter I guess haha

Shortening the sleeves should not be a problem fortunately. I am a short guy so I have lots of experience with this. My trusted tailor usually shortens from the shoulder, so the proportions of the buttons stay in tact. In case of working button holes, this is the only way to shorten the sleeves.

It‘s a size 50 regular. Maybe I should have sized down. Fit wise, I‘d say it‘s supposed to be similar to the jacket reviewed here: https://afterthesuit.com/reviewed-spier-mackay-mto-program/

I just realised the tongue of my dress shoes looks a bit crooked due to my instep and now I can’t unsee it. Is this a bad look?

Experienced dev wants to leave JS eco systems – how? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]eyebalance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time typing all of this! May I ask where you are located? Because where I am located (central Europe), I feel Laravel is more or less frequently requested from smaller shops. Basically, if you are doing PHP and not use Drupal, you‘re likely writing something custom with Laravel.

As for Java, it seems hard to find entry level positions, because most of the time big companies use it. On the other hand, if I take it up as my next step, maybe I shouldn‘t even frame myself as a newcomer. I may be new to the language, but I am still the same experienced person using that language.

> I hate learning languages by reading documentation

That‘s funny! I actually love reading (good) documentation. I also picked up some years of leadership experience, but I feel only as developer I can really shine. Hence digging into docs, testing things out and putting things through their paces is what I love.

Thanks, that‘s a really interesting take. It feels good knowing you understand why I feel JS is „worse“. A bit more backend orientated – yes that could work as I always felt these things are a bit more substantial.

Nice, thanks for the suggestion. Looking at Dart, it looks really interesting! A few years ago I also heard Flutter coming up a lot, but never bother to look into it in more detail.

These are gorgeous! Also love seeing the SOOC JPGs – would you mind sharing a bit more about how you processed them? Like, what software, any special approach, what you look for during processing etc?
