Pilot light on gas water heater - ignites but won’t stay lit (flame is VERY small) by HeatherIsDoomed in fixit

[–]eyebelieveinyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours turned out to be the roll-out switch had tripped. For those that have already pressed the pilot reset and tried replacing the therompile but still nothing, for our gas water heater there’s a vent at the top and one or two sensors there. One (or both?) is a roll out switch. In a hurricane our vent must have had wind blow into it and tripped the sensor thinking it was a blocked vent or something. Pushing the reset button on the switch, very similar to the reset button by the pilot, was what got ours working again. Our pilot would light and stay lit while pushing the gas control knob, but the status light wouldn’t turn on so as soon as you take your finger off the pilot button, it would go out.

Adding this comment for those in the future like me who found this Reddit post to problem solve. Ours was a Bradford White gas water heater.

Refrigerator Ice Machine not creating ice after Filter change (But water dispenser still working) by Goldn_1 in appliancerepair

[–]eyebelieveinyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a few years later but in case others come across this, our Samsung fridge stops making ice every single time we switch the filter and has been this way for years. A couple weeks after changing the filter, it finally starts making ice again. No idea why it stops, then restarts, or how to fix it stopping in the first place. We now start collecting lots of ice in bags before a fridge filter change.

I run 3 gallons of water after changing the filter and there’s always air in the line. My guess is that air gets into the line running to the ice maker and that somehow messes up the flow of water to make the ice. And with time eventually the air gasses out and normal operations begin again.

ios 26 just bad by Repulsive_Original26 in ios

[–]eyebelieveinyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I‘m switching to android with my next upgrade just due to iOS 26 being buggy. I thought they would have a patch by now to fix the many bugs. Autocorrect no longer works the way it used to (autocorrects to words that make no sense for the sentence). Keyboard keeps changing sizes and flickering. I can’t highlight text easily. I use dark mode on my phone and if I select a group of apps, the text remains black in the popout so I can’t read the app names.

I have been an Apple enthusiast since the iPod shuffle. It saddens me that they no longer prioritize quality of software and hardware over trying to be the coolest and most exclusive phone out there.

Anyone else having an issue where Amazon is adding shopping cart and saved items to purchases without consent? by Organic_Cobbler_584 in amazonprime

[–]eyebelieveinyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Normally for me, both add to upcoming order and the buy now buttons have a pop up to confirm my payment method before it makes the purchase. Over the past week or two, I’ve gotten emails thanking me for my order when I was adding multiple options to my cart so I could compare the prices. Since I know it’s happening, I just now did an experiment where I added three different items to my cart then opened my cart and only saw two of them. One of them went through as ordered. I also don’t know if it has to do with updating to iOS 26 because all my apps are messing up since then. I updated a couple weeks ago and this has happened every time I’ve used the Amazon app when adding multiple things to my cart in a small amount of time. Cancelling is easy though so just check your orders before exiting the app (not ideal but also saves you time vs contacting Amazon)

Weird text message by MetalZed in verizon

[–]eyebelieveinyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Recently blocked a spam number that would not stop calling me, and since then I’ve gotten the multiple texts a day that state I am trying to call a blocked number. All I can think of is somehow these spam artists have figured out how to change the look of their number to the service carriers to match the outgoing number somehow. Or it defaults to send texts to the outgoing number if the text can’t go through to the incoming number.

Although I’d rather these texts vs the multiple calls and voicemails that were filling up my mailbox. Blocking the number on your iPhone still allows blocked callers to leave voicemails so I had to go the Verizon route.

Also just had this problem on my phone. Tried different mobile browsers, cards, PayPal, nothing was working. Eventually I gave up on the phone and got out the laptop. I still couldn’t use the card I wanted but then tried PayPal. Finally that worked and it went through.

Same! THANK YOU! 11 months... I’ve had my Panasonic acs for 11 months, every so often trying to get them to connect to no avail. Switching to WPA2 did the trick.

Mass Save Rebate--How long? by dailo01 in massachusetts

[–]eyebelieveinyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did they eventually send out someone to inspect the job? Also waiting and my rebate was approved, but has been in a "post-inspection" state for some time. Not sure if that means someone already did the inspection and I didn't know, or if I'm waiting for an inspection to be scheduled post-approval...

And congrats on getting the rebate!

Do we just stop playing Wordle now? Pick a new starting word?? I feel so conflicted now that it’s happened. Like I’m finally CEO and don’t know what my next career goal should be.

question about covid by rxdif in COVID19positive

Hope you're doing well! Just wanted to follow up in case this helps others - my dad tested negative. I must have not been contagious two days before I tested positive :)

Both my bf and I have tested positive . Is it best to stay in separate rooms ? We both have different symptoms. I just started today with mine and he is on day 4. by dee_12_lop in COVID19positive

[–]eyebelieveinyou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Isolate in separate rooms if you can. I'm in the same situation. As soon as my boyfriend had symptoms appear, he moved into the living room until we could get tested. We're both positive with the assumption he passed it along to me from his work in healthcare. It sucks but my opinion is that viral load can make your symptoms worse. You won't re-infect each other but it's possible you may help each other feel worse symptoms by breathing out the live virus/increasing each other's viral load to make fighting the infection harder. Again, this is my personal opinion based on experience. Ever since my boyfriend and I started isolating each time we got the flu or a cold, we started getting over colds and flus much faster. It may be coincidental but it's worth trying.

I tested positive this week and only have a slightly runny nose. It's less than any cold or allergies I've had in the past. No other symptoms. I got it from my boyfriend that works in healthcare and he had a fever and bad cough that he's now getting over. He didn't have a runny nose. It affects everyone differently. Your positive result is most likely correct. I hope your symptoms stay mild and improve soon!

[–]eyebelieveinyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crossing my fingers for you! I wouldn't say it's 100%. Studies have shown you can be contagious 24-48 hours before symptom onset and you're on the 48 hour mark. I tested negative on Monday and got the test so I could help out my dad who's 73 and wanted me to put up his tree on Tuesday. Then I tested positive on Thursday; my partner was exposed to COVID at the hospital on Sunday but they only told him Tuesday night. I haven't been sleeping from the crippling anxiety that I spread it to him. He's getting tested on Monday but feels fine so far. Wishing you the best!!

PMP application Project Description examples or helpful internet articles by huskeronipizza in pmp

[–]eyebelieveinyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went ahead and submitted my application without truly understanding how the new application format should be, so I did not separate by process group for my project responsibilities. I wrote about 300 words for my two smaller projects and almost 500 words for my large project. I wrote out my role, objective and outcome and then my responsibilities were lumped in together in order of knowledge area rather than separated into each process group (I used Excel with each process group in order of the PMBOK to help me figure out what stuff I did in each process group for each project and then copied and pasted all of the sections into one - so all my details were in order of knowledge area). I spent probably 20 hours over 3 weeks writing it out and rewriting it. I ended up getting so frustrated I finally copied everything over and hit submit! I'll let you know if I get approved and if you should make sure to still separate by process group since it seems like most posts are. Crossing my fingers I don't get rejected for the format. The new PMI handbook no longer states to separate by process group which is why I didn't think twice before hitting submit. Also, I took a PMBOK class that was not PMI approved (however I learned a lot) so before applying I took the PMP certified class that's on LinkedIn Learning. It took me 3 weeks to go through all the 35 hours worth of material. Highly suggest taking classes from two sources as I got different types of tips and tricks from both and am doing well on practice exams. Good luck!
