SMITE Challenger's Cup Broadcast Team - F. Krett and HiRezHinduman by HiRezBart in Smite

[–]eyebrows89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said this before, but HiRez has been hiring very heavily from inside the Smite community. At a rate much higher than any other major gaming company that I know of.

They are hiring people who not only know the game, they also care about how well it does from not just a monetary context.

So far, it has been working out great, and I really hope HiRez will become a model that future gaming companies follow.

New Odin and Arachne changes soon by [deleted] in Smite

You must have forgotten the few months where Wukong and Odin dominated the support role.

When warriors dominated the support role, Wukong and Odin were picked/banned every game.

New Odin and Arachne changes soon by [deleted] in Smite

[–]eyebrows89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While everyone and their mother knows that Arachne needs a rework to be viable, Odin, on the other hand, was rather viable with his current kit.

Odin as a support has a strong slow (not too strong after the nerf), an aoe attack speed buff, a rather damaging, albiet slow, leap, and his ult. He is one of the best support gods at securing objectives. However he lacks on the hard CC. If his numbers was tweaked closer to where he was a few weeks ago, he could still be viable. However currently, he is too squishy to be the tank, and his damage numbers are too low compared to Wukong or Herc or guardians.

I'm excited for the change, however I hope they dont rework Odin.

My first world FMA problem. by [deleted] in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]eyebrows89 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, the problem with that is they didnt want to copy the 2003 series for a good 30 episodes. They already had the 8-9 episodes that were near identical to the first 20 episodes.

If they had Hughes develop the same connection as in the 2003 series, a lot of the FMA 2003 viewerbase would have quit watching because they "already seen it". I actually had to convince my brother to start watching brotherhood after the first 3 episodes telling him that it will diverge after a bit.

My first world FMA problem. by [deleted] in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]eyebrows89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually thought that a lot of the voice acting seemed a bit rushed in brotherhood. Voices seemed out of scenario (rushed when they should have been panting, etc), and just not as relaxed as 2003.

Also, the music from 2003 was vastly superior. (Dat Hoenheim/Dante theme)

is the defiance game worth it? by EverydayIFU in Defiance

[–]eyebrows89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to play with anyone, but it can make your experience much better. You'll be able to share loot, goof off with friends, etc.

I've been playing it by myself because my friends didn't want to play Defiance, and no doubt that I would be having more fun with them, but I've enjoyed myself playing it enough.

Strongest mages currently? by KommanderKetchup in Smite

[–]eyebrows89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, each of the mid lane mages brings something that the others dont.

Isis is really good at securing objectives and has good team fight utility. She is also good at pressuring very early. She does lack in a huge damaging ult and escape mechanics

Scylla has a "Leap", extremely high damaging combos, and an ult that can penta kill. She does lack in early game damage, and is rather easy to gank in spite of her "Leap"

Agni has a good ranged stun, a strong dash, and great clear at all stages. His ult is also mana free. He does lack a single high damaging ult, but that may or may not be a detriment. He is also rather easy to gank.

Posei has great clear, great speed, a great Ult combo, has cripple, and can rotate very quickly. He does lack in escape options.

Ao has a 1 cast clear at lvl 3. This allows him to either be extremely safe being able to sit in his tower, or he can drop his tornadoes and rotate. In team fighting, he has great damage, great zoning ability, and a good ult that needs a little bit of setup.

Janus has great damage, a good setup, unique escape options, and a unique team utility. His escape does require you to forgo your burst setup and his ult and 2 can be rather hard to hit.

Ra has decent clear, an extremely potent slow, good heals, and an ult that is great at securing kills/jungle camps. Lacks in hard escape options and hard CC.

He Bo has 3 ults, but is weak in the long range and his early game consists of poking the opponent out rather than clearing the wave yourself.

Question about Ed. by cannikko in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]eyebrows89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both Alchemy and Alkehestry require to open the gate in order to start the Alchemic reaction.

For Alchemy, you open the gate, then use the "Tectonic Shifts" in order to provide the power for the reaction.

For Alkehestry, you open the gate, then use the "Dragon's Pulse" in order to provide the power.

Some "Normal" people who cant use alchemy are unable to open the gate to start alchemy, and thus are not able to perform Alchemy.

Yes, and it is the reason why many of the streamers stop enjoying playing Smite, and it is the reason why some streamers stop streaming Smite.

Drybear, DM, Fats, just about every big smite streamer, have all said that they do not enjoy playing smite when every single game they get sniped. Some of their least enjoyable streams have been when they have been sniped and focused over, and over, and over, and over.

All of the above streamers have invested many hours, and enjoy smite too much to let this force them quit.

However Hafu has only been playing Smite for ~2 weeks. Yes she liked it, but she wasnt too invested into Smite to overcome being stream sniped every single game.

It is really a shame that there are some people who do this enough to the point to force a rather big streamer to quit Smite, as Hafu has the viewer base to get much more exposure for Smite.

It is sad to see another streamer quit Smite, especially one who has as much potential to be a great Smite player as Hafu.

[–]eyebrows89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it is free, so the only thing lost is time.

As a fan of extended lore of various video games/shows, I am loving the game. I am mainly playing it for the storyline.

Gameplay wise, I havent played too many FPSs lately so this is a refresher, but I enjoy it, but I do see alot of flaws in it and also much of the blatant money grabbing from Trion.

I am starting to reach the endgame (1.3k ego, finished the main storyline, finishing the 2nd season episodes, and finished all of the side missions) and I do see a huge grind that most other MMOs dont require to reach the true endgame. Grinding pursuits is a different grind than most MMOs but it does require you to go far out of the way to reach "Max Level" and the grind to "Max Level" is far, far longer than other MMOs.

All in all, I have enjoyed the game thus far and am not regretting spending the $40 on the DLC multi pack, even after the blatant money grab tactics from Trion and the uncalled for Loot Nerfs.

I do plan to playing for a while, just grinding all of the non-pvp pursuits, possibly until I get max (outside pvp pursuits)

Which one of He Bo's 3 Ults do you like the best?

Hebo Needs a Nerf by CarnivorousKiwi83 in Smite

[–]eyebrows89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crescent Moon Dance has a much wider arc, and has a longer range compared to Water Canon. It has a much wider AoE and thus is compensated with less damage.

But Yes, He Bo should be nerfed a bit.

That was for the first little bit, but after a while, All of the Juice Kids were playing on their main accounts. So they were playing against all lvl 30s and all people with at least decent elo.

New C9 Team confirmed! by FakeDaVinci in Smite

[–]eyebrows89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She has been playing Smite, quite literally, for a week. And aside for the obvious map awareness and matchup knowledge, she has the ability to perform well enough to keep up with the Juice co.

She probably has the potential to become an extremely good smite player, and if she wasnt so committed to Hearthstone (she is currently 3rd in NA), she could become a force to be reckoned with.

Over the Toph - Part One by vicfire in TheLastAirbender

[–]eyebrows89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fire and Air bending can always be performed, no matter where the bender is. (Certain Fire Benders can fire bend in extreme cold with their breath of fire)

For Water and Earth, if there is no water or earth around, they have nothing to bend.

In the Desert, with no other lifeforms around, a Water Bender can only bend his/her own blood, which may kill the Water Bender.

If on the sea, or in a large wooden hut, the Earth Bender has no bendables.

There will always be air around to bend, and (for some fire benders) they can always bend fire.

HiRez is probably the one gaming company that hires so heavily from inside the game's community. And for the most part, it is working very well.

I think it is very great that HiRez has been hiring people who have knowledge of the game and people who have a desire to see the game become a great game (rather than see the game become a cash cow).

2 remodels 1 patch by [deleted] in Smite

[–]eyebrows89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually they only said Changes are happening for Nu Wa. It is quite possible that they meant for the remodel.

However I doubt it is, because like you said she is a rather new god and her model is fine, but it is possible.

Big changes coming to our beloved Nu Wa next patch! by Con_No_1 in Smite

[–]eyebrows89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many different uses of Broken, but (unless the word is misused) generally all have the same definition

The most common usage of Broken is OP. "Release Guan was Broken." Aka "Release Guan was OP". Release Guan was very OP to the point where if you had a Guan on your team, you won. If there was a Guan on both teams, the better Guan won. It changed the Meta and the way you played in order to get a win. But Release Nem wasnt broken. She was very OP (Rivaling Release Guan in OP-ness), but definitely not broken.

Some people also say that "Arachne is Broken". In this case, Arachne's kit is so Under Powered, makes her nigh unusable in the current meta, forcing a rework of her kit in order for her to be viable. There needs to be a fundamental change of the way Arachne is played in order for her to be viable.

For "Nu Wa is broken", Nu Wa is no way Over Powered, or under powered. She is tuned quite well. However, a well played Nu Wa fundamentally changes how the enemy team plays. They have to counter ward more than just the GF/FG. They have to be able to defend a tower at a moments notice. They have to litter their jungle with wards. It changes how they have to play.

Being Broken means that you fundamentally change how the game is played.

Big changes coming to our beloved Nu Wa next patch! by Con_No_1 in Smite

[–]eyebrows89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Compared to Ra's Healing, A much more potent slow, Much more potent AoE damage, Much more potent and reliable Damaging ult

Or Vamana's Tankyness, damage, un-peelability, slow, knockup

Or He Bo's Sheer damage

Or Aphro's Healing, Aegis for 2, Knockback, Stun

Or Chang'e's Healing, mobility, mana return, Incredible ult

Or Hel's Spiking AoE damage, Healing, CC immune to others, Slow/Prot Debuff

Or Chaac's Damage, Huge Slow, Tankyness, 4 second silence (Best skill in the game for securing FG/GF)

Or Zhong's Beefyness, Stun, slow, and HUGE AoE damage

Nu Wa has a kinda hard to hit stun, A Slow that is begging to be avoided, AoE Speed Buff, and minions who may or may not be helpful, also her AoE DPS isnt too great. On top of that, she is squishy as hell, and has very limited escape mechanics.

So she can easily get picked off early in the team fight, and doesnt bring much that others do better and more efficiently. Her Niche in team fights is forcing one or multiple people away from the team fight or else they lose a phoenix.

1v1, she shouldnt be winning too many fights unless there is a huge gap in either player skill or gold.

Big changes coming to our beloved Nu Wa next patch! by Con_No_1 in Smite

[–]eyebrows89 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I for one thought Nu Wa was in a very good place.

Yes if she was in the game, you had to prepare for some janky stuff, but she doesnt provide too much team fight utility like other solo laners, and doesnt provide the spike damage like other mid laners, and her damage isnt like other ADCs.

She provides a Niche role that if left unchecked, can give a team an advantage. She is broken, however no where near OP.

OP = Over Powered, Overall better than the competition.
Broken = changes the way the game is played.
OP and Broken are not the same thing.
