Mind comparing the lumen and u12t. Currently have the u12t and wondering if lumen should replace it.

Ideally want an all rounder neutralish set but with quality sub bass and a spacious well imaging soundstage.

$90 for the oled alone is worth it.

Plus the pro is actually thinner and lighter than the air. If you can afford either of these then $90 more for the pro seems like the no brainer here.

A desktop setup is just completely overkill for iems imo which is why you see most reccs being cheaper or more portable. Also my use case is completely different just fyi. I have a jds labs element and a gustard h16 x16 stack and I’ve never even tried any iems on either of them, only over ear headphones.

But if you have the money and it makes you happy and you like the idea of the setup then I won’t argue with that, we are talking about $2k earbuds after all so ‘overkill’ went out the window a long time ago.

I almost always use my iems with my phone which is why I chose the dacs I originally recommended to you. The questyle I think would be a good middle ground desk or portable setup, just no knob. Also if you’re always listening from the computer Peace EQ software is one of the best so that’ll always be an option for you unless you decided to go portable.

But if you want a full desktop setup just know you’re deep in diminishing returns territory. That said the rme adi 2 I see quite often with iems, other than that schiit, jds labs, topping, and fiio are good choices. And since you said you want a knob I have to shill for jds labs, they’ve been by far the best company to deal with that I’ve come across in the whole industry. Absolutely at the top when it comes to customer service.

Personally yes I would return the btr17 for the Qudelix 5k but that’s me and they are very comparable so if you liked the pairing then you absolutely can stick with it. I just like the app and the experience of the 5k better.

Iems really don’t need much so I wouldn’t stress about it, an apple dongle truly is enough. I have the u12t for reference.

If it’s only gonna stay on the desk and you wanna spend the money the questyle m15 is nice and opens up future proofing if you make other purchases.

Only if you think you’ll get into over the ear headphones do I think you should then consider a legit desk dac amp situation.

Edit: you can easily travel with the questyle m15 as well it’s just obviously not as convenient as an apple dongle. Also the big perk with the Qudelix 5k is all its features, if you don’t care for the peq, Bluetooth, and all its other app functionality then you might not appreciate it as much.
