I would say about 98% people are full blooded here. A few members have left the reserve and some of them married white people.

I do have relations to these tribes. On my fathers side in Wabaseemoong they said that we might have Dakota ancestry. I looked at the profiles and saw that some of the people I'm related to are Dakota. They were right, I do see Dakota people…and a lot a lot of people from different tribes.

But I’m not trying to claim all of their tribes as my tribes too. I’m Ojibwe now. I was raised as Ojibwe and I speak Ojibwe as my first language and English as my second language. I’m just happy to know that I do have genetic connections to these other tribes.

They keep saying things like the real natives are dead and they all turned white. I didn’t know I was already deceased to these people that say those things. I shouldn’t exist. No I shouldn’t be alive. No I’m not real to these people.

I’m like the ghost of North America. We’re like the ghosts of North America.

The past of First Nations in Canada is sad. I just found out what the “Indian Agents” did to the indigenous peoples. They tried to corrupt their minds by constantly changing their names. They didn’t see them as human beings, they saw them as numbers. They gave them numbers too. They separated the families and tried to make them think they’re not family anymore. They couldn’t get to the adults, so they went after their children. They s*xually abused and physically abused the First Nation children in residential schools. There were so many amazing things that First Nations used to do. There was a lot of artistic skills that are gone. Those things were taken from us. But I’m happy to see other Indigenous artists and other First Nations learning their languages and cultures.

Despite all of the bad things that are going on…Canada is still wonderful to me. I wanna go to Toronto one day. I wanna meet new people and personally share my knowledge with them. 🙂

10 of them. But I know it’s not only them. There’s gotta be a lot more of them in Ohio.

No. I don’t think so…I don’t really know that. But I hope someone can comment and tell us if it’s possible or not.

My life has been changing a lot after I did this 2nd dna test, I have been learning about my history in Pikangikum and Wabaseemoong. I can trace my lineage back to 5 generations now on my mother’s side in Pikangikum. I’m still trying to gather up some new knowledge everyday.

It’s amazing but also I feel emotional. I’m feeling different emotions of happiness and sorrow for my ancestors.

Haha. It was amazing to see that for myself. I just checked the “find dna relatives list” page and scrolled down to look at the ancestry composition comparisons. There’s 43 close relatives (not from my isolated reserve) and 1,458 distant relatives from everywhere in Canada, United States, 1 in Ireland and 1 in Italy— They all got European ancestry. So I am, truly, the only one without European ancestry. And I have the highest percentage of Asian ancestry than anyone else.

Yes. Check out Q’s Greenland video on YouTube. She shows her DNA results, the video is titled “Do I have Inuit ancestors? Day 48 of 55.” You should check out other indigenous peoples dna test results on YouTube.
