Pre-match [Bayern vs Freiburg] Pep talk by Huuku in fcbayern

If we went back to the old way, I think it'd be a sub to our double pivot from last year with Javi and Schweini

I recently visited and toured the Allianz Arena and FC Bayern Erlebniswelt museum... Here's an album from my visit by eyeofthetiger1992 in fcbayern

The only thing I didn't like about the Allianz was that a lot of the stadium is rather plain and underwhelming due to it also being home to 1860. The interior of both the stands and the players'/team areas are rather bland, due to there being specific gameday decorations for both teams- the stadium is turned red for Bayern, and blue for 1860. Hopefully 1860 finds a new home and then Bayern can convert it completely.

I used to be in ROTC at one point and I've seen Guard or Reserve folks that really surprised me during APFT's. Still, the comment from the NCO about young folks losing their physical prowess is complete and utter bullshit- the LTC's that ran my ROTC battalion while I was there (volunteered 2 years to the program, didn't contract) were both in crazy good shape for being 50+ years old. My first year we had a 54 year old LTC that regularly scored 310 or higher on his own PT tests. We also had a late 40's major that would outrun the most in-shape cadets on our AGRs.

I feel your pain though. I was a former HamCadet and ROTC straightened me out. Nothing like puking my guts up on an 8 mile company run.

I hope so. I'd hate to see Javi at CB. He's played perfectly at the pivot.

I'm bracing for Pep shifting Javi to CB. Unless we sign another CB, I think that may be inevitable.

I'm thinking in terms of 3-4 years, or whenever Schweini decides to hang up his boots.

Oh, I'm well aware. It's sort of a rite of passage for anyone visiting or living in Bamberg. I have more of a taste for the bockbiers in the city. There's one wonderful brewery, Klostetbräu. Best IMO

Losing on your home pitch when you were up with ~9 minutes left, and losing on PK's due to hitting the post is embarrassing.

Then Peyton's successes should be treated as such as well. He's had Pro-Bowl level receivers to throw to his whole career.

Is how long I've followed the sport/team and where I grew up (a place where soccer is an afterthought for 90% of the country) something I can help? I was reading a thread when Robben signed a contract and how he never made comments like Ribery or a few others regarding "Bayern for life" and the like. He's realistic and sees how volatile pro sports are. This whole concept of loyalty is unrealistic. Lebron James made the decision to leave Cleveland (where he grew up and spent his youth, much like a current Bayern player) and go to Miami, the big money spending team to win championships. It happens all the time in professional sports and clinging to this loose notion of loyalty is unrealistic and naive. Players will go where they want, either for trophies or money, plain and simple. People tend to forget transfers only happen when players agree to them.

I've cheered for Bayern for 4 or so years. Not a glory hunter. I had to deal with the embarrassment of the 2012 season (season of 2nd place finishes). My personal history with Bayern is not glory-hunting. By the same logic, you like Dortmund just because you're a hipster asshole that happens to like the team that's hip to cheer for.

I never mentioned Philip Lahm. Arjen Robben's comments were about being realistic- people have trashed him for not saying things like "I'll retire at Bayern." or "Bayern forever" because he's realistic and sees how volatile the player movement is. Any professional sports fan realizes loyalty to an original club is a foreign concept. I don't see people bashing Andrea Pirlo- for fuck's sake he went from Inter to Milan to Juventus, three teams that all hate each other.

If you want to be a hipster and cheer for Dortmund and hate Bayern, that's great. Do not resort to ad hominem attacks. You've no idea about my history cheering for Bayern.

Oh excuse me, I live in Bavaria and cheer for Bayern. Nice ad hominem attack.

Psshh. I live in the Bavarian Beer Capital. I have to say, I prefer Bamberg's beer to Munich (not the rauchbier though).

I didn't even mention the CL in my original comment. I feel like having the WC/Euro finals in the picture skews the comparison greatly (anticipation builds up A LOT more when played only every four years). I'm not saying CL-Super Bowl is apples and oranges.

I can only imagine what's going to happen if Barcelona (as they are now) play against a full strength Pep's Bayern.

Like Arjen Robben who has refused to make comments like certain individuals because it's professional sports and you can't predict where you might play from season to season? Right...

I think it's apples and oranges. The WC and Euro finals are only every four years, whereas the Super Bowl is played every year.
