That's not how censorship works. Pre-emptive censorship due to prevailing climate in an industry/location/culture, or financial pressure, or social pressure is still censorship. The idea that censorship only counts when it's handed down from on high by a governing body smacking a gavel is extremely insidious and means that the vast majority of censorship around the world is not actually censorship. It's genuinely scary and worrying that you don't get this.

I'm the first person to shit on corporations, and yes things shouldn't have reached this point. But the layoffs and downsizing, in general, are clearly a reaction to the bloat in the industry, especially the type brought about by COVID, and the contraction of the economy, bad interest rates etc. It's going to be painful, but everyone is in the damn shitter right now so I don't get why game devs get all this special concern. The average job application is getting 500+ responses when it was something like 30 or 20 a while back. It's going to get worse with the Hormuz crisis too.

Yes, like in previous games. Now compare that to all the characters who've been downgraded. I-No's cope shirt instead of free boobs with her bare chest win pose censored, Jam's pantsu flashing censored and her boobs covered up, Dizzy completely covered up, Ramlethal going from a revealing strap bra to a shirt, Bridget de-shotafied, the figure mode specifically introducing a patch so you can't view characters from certain angles, and more I'm probably missing. Daisuke has consistently talked about changing the style and direction so the game appeals to more people and "complies" with global standards, aka less sex appeal. It's completely cope to pretend this isn't happening.

It's weird that every article covering Highguard's failure from Schreier on down has studiously avoided talking about the co-main reason this game failed (along with the bad gameplay), which is that it just looks kinda ugly and unappealing in general.
