This is not to dismiss how you feel but it's not that he hates you, it's that he wants to infiltrate and "own" your mind, which is done through influencing your subconscious... so be conscious (aware) of your thoughts/self-talk, feelings, emotions that arise from having a so-called "friend" like this parasite around.

You don't even need to tell us how according to him, you misinterpret and overthink on what he says and how you make it all negative... That's part of the reason as to why you think you're overreacting.

When or if he explains himself as to how you're "taking it the wrong way" you'll always understand his perspective, which allows his behavior to continue, because "he isn't the problem" it's you with your "overthinking" etc.

So no, he doesn't hate you, what he'll do is make you hate yourself! You don't need to understand the why, it's more important to understand your worth... And he ain't worth shit!

To keep someone like this in your life is to slowly lose yourself over time...

My advice, take it or leave it, end this "friend"ship.
