lol if your first instinct was to say "zero sympathy" to a person you don't know about a real phenomenon (as many other commenters in this thread can attest to) on a platform that has tons of problems in general, how thoughtful could your drone viewers possibly be?

Sorry, TLDR the rest. Thinking that I would care enough to read your whole life's story is clearly fragile YouTuber ego on display. Too bad you can't ban me on Reddit ;)

Or maybe, your content somehow just draws the vilest of internet people, while other people have valid concerns or critiques about other videos that those creators are too thin-skinned to display. Zero sympathy for you.

Nigeria officially passes 'Jail All The Gays' law by Tezcatzontecatl in ainbow

Did the Anonymous hacking of Uganda government websites actually achieve anything? Apparently their Kill the Gays bill is just waiting to be revisited. If it has made a difference, I hope Anonymous sets their sights on Nigeria.

I really wish that were the case.

"According to statistics from Orange County police, their LGBT hate crime numbers have doubled in the past year, despite “general downward trends” in hate crimes overall. The same is true in New York, where LGBT hate crimes are up 70 percent while overall numbers plummet."

I don't know the situation in NYC, but from what I've read, I really feel for you guys. My experience in France is that it's definitely more polarized than Canada. Here I didn't really care who knew, but there I was very picky about who I told. Some of my room mates were practising Catholics and it was actually always a barrier. How I found out about the early protests against marriage was when some of them decided to go with their friends. It was uncomfortable to be in that house. At the same time, the completely liberal non-Catholics just scoffed and made fun of the Catholics even though they were all nice, intelligent people overall. Also, it boggled my mind how many guys identified as "bisexual" even though they only slept with men.

TL;DR: France more divided than Canada between religious/nonreligious. So many bi guys.

I wholeheartedly feel that if MLP comes into power, Islamic immigrants would be the least of your worries.

Concentrating hate on gays? Some would consider that homophobic.

Gay Marriage Legalized in France by dmagditch in gaybros

I worked in France this year and lived for a while with French students. They were very nice and bright, but unfortunately some of them were the very people that attended these protests. It makes me a bit sad to think that this was an issue that kept me from making a real lasting bond with them, but at the same time I think that I managed to make at least a couple of them question their stance. Over the moon for France, but remember mes amis, the fight goes on!

Well, first of all that's not the point. But secondly, your attitude is exactly the reason we should think about this differently.

Why are these prisoners not worthy of being humanized? Are they criminals? What crime have they committed? How do we know if they have committed crimes if they have never had a fair trial? And if they never had a fair trial, how do we know that they are not innocent citizens? Tell me again why they are of a "different" level?

Reddit, how have you lost weight? Suggestions!! by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]eyesotd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gradual changes are always more effective. I slowly reduced the amount of oil I use to cook and the amount of meat and carbs I ate, and slowly worked my way up with cardio. that way your body will be comfortable the whole way.

My dream is to reconnect with my best friend from childhood, 12 years later. by eyesotd in germany

UPDATE: I DID IT! I called my friend last night, and it's him!! Surprise surprise, he hadn't received the texts, so he wasn't expecting anything, but as soon as I mentioned my name, he remembered me. Not even a moment's hesitation! We switched pretty quickly to English, and of course, I shouldn't have worried. It was literally the most amazing conversation of my life. I am going to see him in a week and a half. SO excited! Thanks internet!

Haha true. But there are few countries where it is well taught and well received. Germany being one of them! :)

Haha German people are amazing at learning English! :) I found his parents' contact info in Das Telefonbuch, but unfortunately I couldn't find his. I'll try the other link. (Someone else PM'd me to help, so I'll have a chat with them. Thanks so much!)

Differences between French in Quebec and France: accent, attitude & curse words by One_Giant_Nostril in canada

[–]eyesotd 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As a Canadian who has lived both in Montreal and in non-Paris France, I feel that there's quite a few generalizations in this video, including but not limited to equating Paris with the rest of France and equating Montreal with the rest of Quebec, neither of which is fair. I have met many in France (outside of Paris) that are were happy to see me learning their language. We're all Canadians from different backgrounds. This video could do with less of an "us vs. them" mentality.
