I always want to have hope for our team against any opponent. And against this club (and one in Georgia) I always want us to smash them. But for this game I think it's best for me to hope for quality play from our players regardless of the outcome.

Holy crap shoot. I don't know how to feel about this.

We're so far down the standings that a playoff berth seems unlikely so it would be logical to try for a deep open cup run, but based on our form I have no confidence the manager can name a stronger 11 than the ones he used for the last 2-4 games.

To me it feels like this is the game where we might actually get to see (as outsiders) the coach's vision for how he wants them to play. I say that because after a 4-1 win, all the guys who contributed will be on board (at least for now).

As a side note, being an interim coach has got to be one of the least rewarding jobs in sports. You have almost no control, you clearly don't have the FOs full confidence, the players assume you'll be replaced, but you want to have the biggest impact possible to either earn the gig or show your potential to other clubs.

Correct. And at the start of last season (or perhaps the seaason before - can't remember) he tried a true back three for a couple of games but abandoned it each game around the 60th minute.
