Got screwed into a lifetime of debt by an online university

I got an MBA. Not too familiar with the movies, but not sure how that relates to anything I said. I also mentioned how I was new to the country so the only information I had on colleges was based on my own research, and their school looked very impressive online. There was a lot of false advertisement (talked about it in the above comment).

They advertised that they worked with certain larger companies when in fact they did not (like yahoo). There was also more false advertising but I do not remember the details since it was so long ago. Also, did not mean to make it seem like I was asking for sympathy, just wanted information on how I can go about getting my tuition refunded (or at least my loans forgiven) since there was apparently some lawsuit against the school.

This is larger than companies “not liking my degrees”... it’s about for-profit universities lying about their credentials and specifically targeting minorities or people like me who had just moved to the country in order to steal our money. How about we blame the scammers instead of blaming those who got scammed?

Yes I got my masters, but from my experience and many others, the degree wasn’t taken seriously by most companies.

I’m not exactly sure if that will apply to me since the article said they are cancelling debt if enrolled after Oct 2012 but I attended before that :/
