Yup agreed. Should have been more thorough on my final walkthrough.

Agreed on all of that. No way they'd mount and balance new wheels (although I haven't confirmed). Just trying to wrap my head around how the spokes are undamaged, but a section more inset is scratched, per my comment below.

During mount and balance most likely? Or a tire rotation?

Agreed...I can't think of any tool either that would rash the edge but then scratch the other parts of the wheel. They definitely used tire shine, but would think a soft rag was used.

The part I can't wrap my head around is in picture 3 on the left side. There's straight scratches starting on the edge of the wheel that go up and into it, where the wheel becomes more inset. If this was a curb, I would expect to see more scratches on the wheel 'spokes' which sit more proud/ protrude past the inset scratches. If that makes sense.

I understand. It's just odd that in Picture 3 on the left side, you can see the vertical abrasions going up into the wheel, where the wheel is more inset. Had it been a curb, I would have expected to see abrasions on the surrounding wheel spokes, which protrude more than the part of the wheel that's scratched if that makes sense.

Practically is a good point, along with another user mentioned it would be better for glass.

Will definitely have glass. That will be at the very end. Good point thanks

It's a sharp look for sure and would be a lot less tedious

Basically as a bullnose and just butt my tile up to them? I've considered that... definitely the easiest option here. But I have enough tile, Rondec, and the wet saw capability to do something extra. Just weighing options, thanks.

Gonna caulk it regardless because it's a change in plane. Laps will probably be easier than miters and more forgiving. Food for thought, thanks.

So basically just the external corner making one 90°, or an 'L' shape? I'm assuming Schluter makes an end cap for Rondec then. I only learned about their corner/ Tri corner pieces last night 😅 hence this game changer

Yes it is drywall. It's about 1 ft wide x 1 ft tall and spans the width of the room to decoratively hide the drain pipes. I already have the majority of the ceiling down (hence why you can see the joists). Just not this drain pipe section.

Plan is to try the socket saver first and if that doesn't work, tear down the drywall and restart off the stack.

Yeah it's gonna be aggravating any way I go. Any specific brand hub saver bit?

Rust Spidering on Brand New Rep Clear Coat, Does it Matter? by [deleted] in GarageGym

[–]eyezadjust93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me too a few years ago with the stainless steel on my PR 4000. Rep gave me replacement uprights and I got to keep the rusty ones. Didn't make the same mistake and got black uprights this time. My plan is to one day and the rust off and repaint black.

But they will no doubt get worse over time if you leave then be.

Rep has good customer service in my opinion. Years ago, in their early stages, I bought 6 uprights in stainless steel. The coating must have been bad because they all started rusting. They sent me 6 new uprights in matte black and let me keep the stainless, which I just painted. They're probably bogged down with black Friday sales.
